The hotel is reasonably clean and decent. I booked on a deep discount site so thought it was worth the money. However, the regular rates I see advertised are well above what the hotel offers. Older property and the rooms could use some updating. Beds are comfortable, but the soundproofing is suspect. The restaurants on site are not accomodating and... more

The hotel was quite nice. It is hidden away a bit but still close to most everything. There is a great view of the area from the hotel room deck. It was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. more

What a nasty hotel. We arrive and the front desk person is downright ugly to us. The room has a bad odor. The decor is from the 80's with bad wallpaper and bad-taste bed cover. The halls have faded carpet that might be 10-years old. The bed linen is cheap with a sandpaper feel. We checked out the next day,... more

We used to live in Olympia and went back for the july fourth holiday. We stayed at the Red Lion because it was pet friendly, had a pool, and a view over the Deschutes river and Capitol Lake. The entire facility had the overall feeling of being understaffed and undermaintained. The staff was indifferent as to the hotels shortcoming. As... more

We spent 5 days here. Nice, quiet & unusually roomy. The fitness center was adequate for my needs. Pretty atmosphere - very relaxing. more

This was our third stay at the Red Lion in Olympia and while we knew that it was a work in progress this trip confirmed that the management was failing to address the ongoing problems. The place is dirty, smoking is allowed in the no smoking rooms, the pool and spa handn't been cleaned and the restaurant has taken a... more

My partner and I have stayed here a couple of times for conferences, the latest being 23 January 09. Overall, it is a nice place. On the plus side, the grounds and the view from the bluff overlooking the southern end of Puget Sound are great. For the most part, the facilities and employees are good, too. On the down... more

The good news here is that the poorly maintained property usually means a change in ownership. In 1979 it must have been nice and the location is great. Howvever you have to use the facilities. more

The Good: I stayed at this hotel for two nights to attend a work conference. The room looked very nice and clean, nice little sofa and a nicer desk and comfy desk chair. Nice soap, too. Hotel housekeeping staff were very nice and accomodating, as were the the conference and dining service staff. The Bad: I was surprised at how... more

My husband and I needed a night away. We decided to stay at the Red Lion in Olympia. They upgraded us to a wonderful king room with patio looking at the gazebo decorated with white Christmas lights. The lobby was lovely. The two ladies at the front desk were friendly and helpful when we needed directions. Our room was quiet,... more
