This was our third stay at the Red Lion in Olympia and while we knew that it was a work in progress this trip confirmed that the management was failing to address the ongoing problems. The place is dirty, smoking is allowed in the no smoking rooms, the pool and spa handn't been cleaned and the restaurant has taken a... more

My partner and I have stayed here a couple of times for conferences, the latest being 23 January 09. Overall, it is a nice place. On the plus side, the grounds and the view from the bluff overlooking the southern end of Puget Sound are great. For the most part, the facilities and employees are good, too. On the down... more

The good news here is that the poorly maintained property usually means a change in ownership. In 1979 it must have been nice and the location is great. Howvever you have to use the facilities. more

The Good: I stayed at this hotel for two nights to attend a work conference. The room looked very nice and clean, nice little sofa and a nicer desk and comfy desk chair. Nice soap, too. Hotel housekeeping staff were very nice and accomodating, as were the the conference and dining service staff. The Bad: I was surprised at how... more

My husband and I needed a night away. We decided to stay at the Red Lion in Olympia. They upgraded us to a wonderful king room with patio looking at the gazebo decorated with white Christmas lights. The lobby was lovely. The two ladies at the front desk were friendly and helpful when we needed directions. Our room was quiet,... more

Booking number 00003441 made 12-08-07, requested ground floor room with padio for dog event. Was told could not reserve specific room, hotel policy was first come first serve. Worked with hotel staff making arrangements for activity I was in charge of over the year - staff continually repeated policy stated above regarding reserving specific rooms. Showed up to hotel on... more

We hadn't stayed at a Red Lion before but decided to give it a go for one night on our way up to Seattle. The rate was quite expensive - around £60 but as all hotels in Olympia seemed that and more, we thought it was as a good a deal as were going to get. Location-wise is good, straight... more

This is a great hotel for the money. We had to weave our way through a bit of local construction to get to his hotel located in the back of an office complex, but we were pleasantly surprised when we found this expansive building with ample parking. The lobby is beautifully decorated, and the receptionist greeted us with a smile.... more

I stayed at the Red Lion on business and chose is basically on its location (near to the office I needed to visit). It's well located for arrival by car, but is around a 25 minute walk into downtown Olympia (quickest route is over the railway bridge that crosses Capitol Lake). The view over Capitol Lake is spectacular and well... more

Tucked away off main streets but close to them for easy access. The setting is lovely - almost lodge like. The facility is a bit dated, but sits on Capitol Lake - so a beautiful view, plus surrounded by beautiful green. A high school reunion was going on while we were there, which tempted me to leave, but we stayed.... more
