we stayed at this hotel over lakefair weekend and upon making my reservation I requested a crib, was quoted Hundred and $149 for the night with no AARP discounts available, and that if we got in early we could check in if our room was ready. when we arrived, our room was NOT ready, and we had to wait 2... We reserved three rooms for our 3-generation family vacation and two were supposed to be adjoining for our grandchildren. After a longer than normal wait at the front desk we were given three rooms not even on the same floor. Being the grandparents, we said "no big deal, we will take the one on the other floor. Took the key... More

I needed to stay close to the capitol and this was a good distance. From appearances on the outside I was a bit worried, but my room was clean and spacious. It was a warm day and I had the a/c going full blast and found it hard to cool my room down even with the blinds closed. I slept... More

The staff was friendly, the lobby is nice, breakfast was good. Our room was clean and comfortable but felt rather empty, like furniture (perhaps a couch) had been removed and never replaced. The undersink plumbing leaked enough that we left a towel on the floor when washing to avoid being splashed on the legs. We pointed this out to staff... More

Please do not patronize this hotel. I purchased a package deal for two nights. We were told the Governor Hotel was under new management and the deal we paid for was not longer valid. We tried for two days to get a manager to return our phone call. Nothing. No refund. I would never, ever recommend this hotel. Maybe the... More

When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised when we entered the lobby. The hotel looks clean and the front areas was friendly. We did get a great rate so we decided to stay. We stayed in room 609 and we upon entering we thought it was clean. The bathroom floor was dirty if you look under the sink area where... More

the Governor was not our first pick, but when all other hotels in lacey were full due to the jazz festival we had to find something else late at night. we called the Governor, the front desk girl was very professional on the phone, said they had 1 room left so we reserved it and drove to Olympia which is... My boyfriend and I booked a room last minute for the Capital City Stage race. We got a room with an amazing view of the lake. Both gals that worked the front desk were friendly. The only very small complaints I have is that the breakfast isn't the best. However, for the money, I really can't complain. The beds are... More

I really hate to leave my first bad review but it has to be done. This hotel needs major help, the only areas that are decent is the lobby, and the room. The parking garage is dark and scary and the doorbell ringer is just tacky and ups the creep factor. The elevators are smelly, rickety and just plain scary... More

If you want cookie-cutter, whitewashed, and bland, the Governor (and downtown Olympia for that matter) is not your place. If you desire character, and proximity to character(s:-), take the leap and stay here. The recent remodel greatly improved the hotel's aesthetic, but don't fixate on the superficial; focus on the location, the view, and the uniqueness offered for a reasonable... More
