It is important to know what you are getting in to when you head for the Doe Bay resort. As first time visitors, our expectation was to find a rustic, environmentally conscious resort, with exceptional, healthy organic food in a serene setting - all based on the reviews we had read. Our expectations were met. We stayed in the Do-Rae-Mi... More

If you have extra cash to throw around, and like beautiful scenery, Doe Bay is a good place to stay while on Orcas Island. The cafe is lovely but expensive and could use more staff people so they don't look SO overwhelmed. The lodging is overpriced for what it is (we stayed in a dome with a terrible box spring... More

If you're looking for a five-star resort, this isn't the place. But if you're looking for real quality, with values that embrace nature and bring you "back home to your roots," so to speak, then this is it. We stayed in the Sweet Spot Yurt. The weather was partly sunny most days, with rain at night. It didn't leak, but... More

Most of the cabins are in a field well away from the coast. They are extremely basic, like a soul-less shed, scattered around the edge of an untidy field. There were holes in the blankets, and a bare minimum of old, mismatched cutlery and kitchen items. At one third of the price it would still have been poor value.

We are veteran car campers and LOVED this place. The site we had "Bison" had an outlet, picnic table and room to park a car (flora, birds and deer also included). A short walk away were several clean toilets and shower room (two showers per gender). A wonderful smelling soap was included also paper toweling. Also close by was a... More

Doe Bay is a beautiful and peaceful retreat. We stayed in the Children's cabin, which was well-equipped for our party of six with two full beds, a loft, and a futon, and a kitchen and bath. We enjoyed our soak in the hot pools overlooking the bay (the pools and sauna have "family hours" when the clothing optional policy is... More

We've been to Doe Bay resort twice and both times enjoyed our stay. It is a bit rustic. The food in the cafe is excellent. But the highlight of the resort is the hot tub with a gorgeous view of the Doe Bay. The management is really nice and are to be applauded for sticking to their principles and running... More

I had never been to Orcas Island before, and I was more than pleasantly surprised. I felt we had the maximum experience at Doe Bay. We enjoyed Pizza/Open Mic night, with incredible food and an amazing crew in the Cafe. We stayed three nights~ in the Gnome Dome (which we were so happy about when it started to pour at... More

What can i say, we winged a trip over from Seattle had no clue when where or what. We discorverd from a travel book Doe Bay, we read the info decided to give them a call, while waiting in line at the ferry. We snaged a cottage churi, and had no idea the beauty that we were about to discover.... More

We were here for my wife's son's wedding and they are kind of hippie-dippie/one love as are their friends and one side of the family. So, we were not totally shocked with what we experienced. First, know this is not a resort- it is more of a revised commune that sells itself as a resort. We stayed in a $225/night cabin... More
