We stayed here mostly because we were curious about the place. We had lived in the small (now-cream-colored) house across the street back the the 70's. The Sunset View was our beach access ... but it was just a sandy trail for the long walk to the huge beach back then. Boy, were we surprised to find a paved trail,... more

The view from our third floor units was spectacular. The units themselves need to be redone. The stove was a Montgomery Ward and needed some serious help. The refrigerator leaked water all over the kitchen the last night we were there. The blanket we got off the rack to use on the couch had a huge hole in it. The... more

This is no resort. I travel a lot and expect certain things at given price points, this "resort" failed at so many levels. This place is aged, and not well. I stayed in a two bedroom, two bath, kitchen and living room suite. First, your are given the TV remote at check-in - bad sign right from the start. The... more

The Sunset View Resort was perfect for our clam digging trip. We had a great time and the staff was was very helpful whenever we needed assistance. This was my first stay at this location and I will be returning for many more clam digging excursions. It was nice to have a cleaning station for our clams and the surf... more

I've stayed at many types of hotels, motels and resorts in Asia, Canada and western US. This was not a business trip or a weekend at a day spa. I needed a quiet, inexpensive room for a weekend of clam digging and hanging out with friends. This trip I didn't want to stress about tracking tons of sand and "dirtying"... more

At least once a year for many years now our family has gone to the Sunset View Resort for clam tides, beachcombing, romantic getaways, and family vacations. Yes, the buildings are older and are starting to show their wear, but the facilities are always clean, neat, and in working order. The kitchenettes are always well stocked for preparing home cooked... more

I really liked staying here. It's a great place to bring a family, as there are lots of things to do right at the resort. They have a tennis court, tether ball, basketball, volleyball, hot tubs, picnic tables, barbecue and playground all on picturesque, beautifully maintained grounds. We really liked the ocean view from our 2nd story room. They also... more

I stayed one night at this hotel, it had a vacancy and I walked in and got a room on the 3rd floor. There is no elevator, and no one to help you bring your things up the stairs. The room was large, but very, very worn. All the furniture and the bedding was raggedy and pilled, and very broken... more

This was not my first choice for hotels in long beach, wa. In fact it was one of the last but since it was the only hotel that wasn't a chain hotel that i could stay at for one night it worked. From the front of the hotel you can see how many years the hotel has been around, but... more

We stayed at the Sunset View over the President's Day weekend. We stayed in a good-sized room (105) with 2 bedrooms, kitchen/dining room combo, livingroom w/fireplace, a main bathroom w/tub and a master bathroom w/shower. Our room was a little run-down. A couple of examples: the paint on our shower was worn down in places showing black through the white... more
