From the street, this property seems a little sketchy. It has an older feel about it, but the rooms are actually pretty nice. Ours was large with a nice television, a great bathroom, and good furniture. The included breakfast was extremely underwhelming, and the man at the front desk is definitely moody. Still, the rooms are nice, and the area... More

This is not a property I would have chosen from the outside, as it is on the corner of a busy street and busier street and appears to date from the '50's, but we were just passing through on our way south, looking for a place for the night, and the price was right. I was pleasantly surprised! The windows... More

I knew not to expect much when the hotel cost less than $100, but the breakfast was a toaster and very limited cereal. Nothing fresh! The room was dark and the bed covers looked like they were original - from the 1960's. Give this one a pass!

Wow-I stayed for 4 days on business, and although it looks like a classic mid-century hotel, everything on the inside was immaculate and state of the art. Mr. Wang, the proprietor, is very "old school" in his ways, even calling the day before to confirm. Everyone in his family is involved in the upkeep, and he said he had used... More

I stayed at this motel for a third time in July 2014 - was in town for a horse event. It's scrupulously clean and comfortable, and the furnishings and bathroom fixtures are MUCH nicer than you would expect for a mom & pop motel (i.e., granite countertops, marble-topped furniture). It's centrally located on Whidbey, an easy drive to all attractions,... More

I am frankly surprised by the many very favorable reviews of this motel. We stayed in early August - and it was kind of a last resort for us, as many other places were booked. The Good: Very clean room. Functional A/C (although blocked by furniture) and free, high-speed WiFi. The rates are reasonable and budget friendly. The highlight in... More

Want to be ripped off? Then this is your place. The owner will chastise you for not calling to make a reservation, as though this was 1993. He will explain why he is charging you 8 bucks for online reservations, but then he will add a 12% tax on top of your room AND the fee. Basically you will pay... More

We stayed at the Acorn during a very bad rain storm, and stayed in the room, most of the day, watching Netflix. To say the Acorn is clean, is an understatement. It's operating room sanitary. The furnishings in our king suite were a very good job of knock off antiques. Looking at interior construction detail, the rooms must have been... More
