My wife and I are still happily eating our way through The Pacific Northwest on our vacation. We didn't stay here but did stop for food. The restaurant is beautiful and out of another time: Dark and lodgy, cozy yet with a feeling of formality. You feel special as you sit and look out of the large windows onto the... More

Whistlin Jack Lodge is an old-style lodge right on the Naches River in the Washington Cascades. It has a marvelous restaurant and a great old-fashioned ambience. A gas station and gift shop are on site as well.

This lodge (inn and cabins) is in a great location very close to Mt. Rainier National Park and Yakima Valley wine/beer country. This place has a lot of potential. But has some key limitations. The cabins are nice but a bit dated (we stayed in a cabin). Internet access is only available in the main building (restaurant and front desk,... More

Have stayed at Whistlin Jacks many times. This time was very disappointing! Our cabin was ok. The cabin was dark & stuffy with only one window that opened. The hot tub hardly worked, had lots of floaties. Ate at the restaurant. Took about 20 minutes to get waited on & the food was horrible. I ordered chicken Oscar, was supposed... More

We stayed 2 nights in the Grand View cabin. The setting was quite nice; right on the river front. The food in the restaurant was also very good; although huge portions. Unfortunately, that was the extent of positives. Basically, the value for money was completely out of its league. We have stayed in much nicer cabins in the NW at... More

Perched above the Naches river the motel rooms provide an excellent view and the sound of the river while calm the most stressed driver. We stayed in the fall when they offer their "Smile Package" which includes your room, a welcome plate of fruits and cheeses along with wine. Also included is an off menu dinner and breakfast the next... More

I am glad I stayed at Whistlin' Jack Lodge but I am unlikely to stay there again. I was in the main building that has 8 rooms. On the plus side I enjoyed the river view and the room was clean. It had two big armchairs by a lovely bay window looking out on the beautiful river. The bed was... More

For the first night of an 1,000 mile tour of Washington state and lower British Columbia in our classic '57 T-Bird, we decided to go through Mt. Rainier and exit through Chinook Pass. Wshistlin' Jack lodge is about the only lodging open in the greater area, until you come to Naches. But we wanted wilderness ambiance, so we stayed there.... More

Nothing here is worth the price. The food is acceptable but pedestrian and not worth the price. The cottages and bungalows are worn out, outdated and not well maintained-rooms way overpriced. A shame as the location is beautiful but the main building and the rooms do very little to take advantage of the views or location. Small, 1970s bathrooms not... More

Stayed 2 nights at Whistling Jack Lodge, Scenery is outstanding, the place is great looking. There was no air conditioning,, screens missing from some windows. Wi-fi is only available in the office and restaurant or ouside up to about 50 feet from the office building. Not exactly what we expected. The restaurant has excellent food that is way over priced...
