We booked a cabin (#5) at the Lost River Resort for a two-day ski trip. We had stayed here several years ago in summer and remembered it as rustic, quiet, and enjoyable. It was all of those things and a bit more. We arrived in the evening during a snowstorm. As the email confirmation said, there was no one around... More

This is our fourth trip to Lost River Resort from Alaska. We love it here. We generally stay for 10-14 days, so the price is right. We've been here twice in the summer to run Angel's Staircase (cancelled last summer) and enjoy the running up Robinson Creek and other nearby trails. We also rented bikes and followed some great bike... More

No phones no tv no cable - you can now get 3/4G depending on where you stand. We have been coming for years and usually stay in cabin 5 or 6 across the street. 5 is much smaller and cozy - 2 adults/2 kids max - 6 is much bigger and I think can sleep up to 8. Kitchens have... More

I agree with the poster that said this should be 'Last Resort.' We were connected to this place via the Winthrop Central reservation service and made our non-refundable payment before reading any reviews (ok, bad planning on my part). We wanted to get away at the last minute and this place was cheap, and accepted pets. "Cabin" and "Resort" were... More

We stayed in cabin #4 which is one of the duplex cabins. It is very basic with the furnishings being really cheap and mostly functional, but it was only $84 per night so we didn't go in expecting a lot of refinement. Everything worked (with the exception of a window that didn't open), though there were a few quirks like... More

I have no idea where the other reviewers stayed, and wonder if they are legit, but I would never stay at this place again. We rented all four cabins for a family weekend. Cabin 4 had a broken, lopsided bed, a non-working shower that dripped day and night, and the toilet flushed whenever the toilet in cabin 3 next door... More

Lost River resort is a special place to get away and enjoy a vacation the way it was meant to be...relaxed. The cabins are perfect for a family to use as homebase while you enjoy the local emenities. The Mazama store is a few miles down the road, or take a trip into nearby Winthrop. Our family has found our... More

Heaven! Great cabins lots of room on the property for our family to explore and get away from the hectic weekly routines in Seattle. Good proximity to other sites of interest nearby, hiking, fishing and so much more... We will be back. Thank you Lost River!
