Visited the Columbia Gorge early this April and stayed overnight at the Lyle Hotel in Lyle Wa.. In the old days this was a railroad hotel. We found the absolute best dining in the Columbia River Gorge area at the Lyle Hotel. the owners were rude and unhelpful...10 of us were there for a workshop and we all felt the same...the place was unkempt; the shared bathrooms were dirty and were supplied with old used soaps etc...i understand there are new owners; hopefully things will improve; the area is awesome. more

This is is a large converted home. The building upkeep appears to be minimal, the beds are old and the "shared bathrooms" are just a cut above what you would expect in, well, a well-traveled boarding house.
