The historic grounds and outer building appears stunning even as you walk into the lobby. You may think you are going to stay in a historically renovated room with past glamor and memories of the 19th century. Generally, this is not the case. Many of the rooms in the main, older, truly historic Monticello have not been kept up or... More

We stayed at the hotel/motel once before and it is still a great deal for the price it is close to our family...the rooms seem clean (I always bring Lysol) and spray remotes, phones and handles anyway!!..it's a good practice. Rooms are fine size...the only thing you hear between units is the water in the bathrooms...its loud...but manageable.... Our only complaint... More

We did stay in the fancy rooms, although we might have been the only people. It was not bad, with a kitchenette. It was difficult to eat at the t able because the chairs were very soft. Some of the furniture was odd, plaster made up to look like something Roman. The bar and restaurant were closed, which was the... More

Let the historic building not fool you as to where you are going to stay. You will actually stay at the dirty dingy two storey motel next door. When I booked I asked for a room in the main building on the 3rd or 4th floor. On checking in that was not the case. The reception area is fairly well... More

We stayed at the Monticello for one night as a stop over for some sleep while traveling between two points of interest. It was perfectly adequate for sleeping, It's a very no frills type of motor inn. The beds were comfortable enough the facilities just fine. There was a slight musty smell in the room, nothing the A/C until and... More

Arriving at the hotel you go into the lobby and sign it. Then they told us to go out the side door and climb the stairs. This takes us to another building. This is where we stayed. The building reminded me of something from the 1960s. The room was spacious and with modern updates. We had a very nice stay.

OMG...No hotel restaurant....Gordon Ramsey tried to clean it up and yet it is still such a disappointment...especially since it is/was a beautiful hotel. Please someone come in and fix it up and buy it! Please have the restaurant back in order, functional and a good place to go....Longview sure needs it!

Longview lodging can be a challenge. There's a scarcity of modestly priced properties and it's worse during the tourist season, when most people visit Mt. St. Helens. The Monticello's featured rooms, in the main hotel, are very pricy, especially after the "Hotel Hell" makeover. The modern motel units, adjacent to the 90 year old building, are very nice and appear... More

We stayed at Monticello hotel for the nice price of 69 bucks plus tax. What a bargain - the tiny motel beside the big structure has been redone. Clean, nice, with tiled bathroom and a rainhead shower. The room was as good as a best western. We drove up at night and admittedly were worried as we didn't know the... More

We stayed at the Monticello a week after Gordon Ramsey filmed Hotel Hell there. We stayed in the new section of rooms adjacent to the hotel and they were awesome. Not sure about tower rooms. The staff was helpful and friendly and the desk girl even took some laundry home for me and washed it. Above and beyond the call... More
