The Bavarian Ritz should not be confused with Ritz Carlton, but it is a completely acceptable hotel IMO. The location cannot be beat, as it is on the main street (Front Street). We booked and stayed in their Royal King Spa Suite - their top-of-the-line room. The fridge didn't work, neither did the "fourteen air and whirlpool jets" in the jacuzzi. I think the negative comments are really way off. The incense is there for you to burn, it is not burning when you get in the room. Old tired hotel has hired a cut rate interior designer to make cheesy and tacky facial changes to demand higher prices. We had been coming to Leavenworth for years, and accidentaly found the Bavarian Ritz. What a nice place. My husband booked this hotel for one night, April 14th, 2007. I read the horrible reviews on this site after the reservation was made and promptly called to have the reservation cancelled.
