My husband and I stayed at Mrs. Anderson's Lodging house in June of 2005, as a present to me for our anniversary. It is not fancy, but clean, and of historical significance. It is the oldest buidling in Leavenworth, built originally to house the loggers when the area was newly explored and found to have beautiful trees; standing timber worth a lot of money. The train tracks were originally built to Leavenworth to bring down the logs that had been floated down the river from the alpine areas, and the loggers stayed at Mrs. Anderson's, the best and only place in town. Now it is nicely painted, each room is unique and decorated and named for an antique quilt, and decorated with antique clothing and original antique photos of Leavenworth and surrounding area.
