We visited in early May late in the week, and the Columbia River gorge drive was stupendous. We had no idea what to expect for our hotel, but the Sky Deck suited us for its waterside location and some distance from the hydro dams. Only a handful of rooms were occupied, most of which seemed to be filled with workmen... More

For the location and money it fits the bill. The hotel staff are friendly and check in was pretty quick. There is a sign that the front desk closes at 10:00pm but I am not sure if that means someone is on call or not so checking in after 10:00 could be an issue. To provide some perspective, I would... Reception was very efficient with a very pleasant young lady. The room was well furnished and decorated, the whole motel is well into a program of upgrading and refitting, when finished it should be really nice. It is a beautiful lakeside location and the terrace and lawns along the rear of the bedrooms are a real bonus.

We had room 1 (kitchen, 2 beds and murphy bed). Location, size of room, comfort of beds and a/c GREAT. Beautiful view of lake. DOWNSIDE: 0/2 room cleaning ... NEVER had room refresh. We had to get our own new towels. Labor Day: pool covered Saturday -- when we asked, were told "key person" hadn's shown up? At check out... More

This is our tenth year to stay here, and we have about 4 families that travel to Banks Lake the first week of August. As it is the only motel on the lake, there are not many options for places to stay. We are on the lake all day boating, so the only time we are in the room is... More

Both girls who helped us (one at check-in, the other at check-out) were so helpful and efficient. The cost was very affordable (off-season) and we were right on the lake! The view was breath-taking. Rooms were clean and comfortable not a lot of amenities but it appears to be a fishing destination so if you want the "ritz" then don't... More

We've been staying here for 10 years. Since the new owner took over, the Sky Deck has gone downhill. The hot tub hasn't worked in yrs, Ice machine never has Ice, the septic smell is a constant, enough to make you gag, there's mold on the outside of the windows along with cob webs and the place hasn't been painted... This was the 3rd time we have stayed here in the last 6 years. It was the least appealing. The first thing you notice is that the whole place is covered with spider webs. They are everywhere on the outside, on the walls, ceilings, railings. My son and granddaughter had a room and my wife and I had a room.... More

This was our first visit to Electric City and to the Sky Deck Motel. This is quite a quaint little place but it is located literally feet from the water and the views are truly amazing. It is not a new hotel but the room was very clean and comfortable and we had a nice balcony where we could sit... More

The Columbia basin and Grand Coulee Dam had fascinated us for years. On a visit from UK we chose this motel without checking out the room. Pity we didn't because most of the furnishings were tired, the air conditioning was inadequate and probably in need of service, the a/c cover fixings were broken, the WC fittings were damaged and it...
