Staying with my son's who were very excited about the caboose. When we registered we were told that breakfast was no longer included. After a few minutes in the room the toilet would not work. They came and rigged it with a rubber band. Later that night it overflowed so I had to shut the water off. 8:30pm and no... More

We booked a night here on a romantic weekend, my wife and I try to get away every few months. We've stayed in some very different places so don't expect perfection in themed places, but I think we would have enjoyed a hotel room more. The cars are made-over and kind of a hodge-podge. Not dirty but not really clean,... More

Our stay at the Hobo Inn was a really enjoyable one. The "inn" is comprised of eight separate train cabooses that have been refitted to make separate lodging units. Each unit (caboose) is different, but all have full bathrooms, coffee makers, and so on. Just what actually works in each unit is a crap shoot. Our unit was missing an... More

We came to Elbe to ride the Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad steam locomotive. What a treat it was to also stay in a historic railroad caboose outfitted with the modern conveniences you expect in a hotel room. Our stay was perfect overall and the caboose hotel room was very comfortable and clean. First they called and confirmed our reservation about... More

The Hobo Inn is convenient for those taking a trip on the Mt Rainer Scenic Railroad in Elbe. We stayed one night and the wonderful check-in staff moved us to Caboose #2 with useable vestibule. Clean and tidy is the best way to describe the rental. Fun to stay in a Caboose for a night.

Converted cabooses were fun as rooms. I sat in the cupola and took in the scenery. Beds are not plush but we had a good time and it took me back to my young days when my grandfather worked for the railroad. Cute decor in caboose, plenty of coffee, tea, towels, and interesting items in the room to look at.... More

If you are expecting to put on the Ritz, this place is not for you! However, if you are looking for fun, funky accommodations and have a sense of adventure., this might be the place for you. The Inn's rooms are in converted train cabooses in various configurations. We were travelling with a friend and had a double queen. The... More

I belong to an offroad club and we heard that this place had a train car where we could hold our yearly Christmas party. What a good idea!! We showed up to the train car all decked out for the holidays, piping hot and delicious pizza was served along with a huge salad. They supplied a Santa Claus for the... More

We were heading towards Seattle. It was getting late, very late. We drove past the Hobo Inn then turned around and went back. What the heck....why not stay..for an interesting and unique experience. We were hungry and their dining car/ restaurant was still open. I did notice a "position vacant" sign for a cook attached to the Inn sign......this should... More

My husband and I and another couple stayed one night and really enjoyed the uniqueness of the Hobo Inn. The rooms are so adorable. This place is really a gold mine if someone could take the money and time to fix some things.(not that big of a deal but could be nicer) The sewer/water lines are all above ground so... More
