My husband and I stayed here for three days. First sight of the house and the great entrance was inviting. First thing you see through the front door is a nice sitting area in front of the huge fireplace. Breakfasts are incredible with host Charles accomodations. Our room was so nice. The various rooms private baths was one of the... more

Just back from 3 days at Kangaroo Inn. Wonderful experience. Old craftsman bungalow (a style we love) in excellent condition with period furniture. Hot tub in secluded back yard was an unexpected extra. An easy walk outside of the main town on the island, so the location is perfect. Lovely room, interesting and delicious breakfasts. Our host, Charles was extremely... more

This is a lovely place, somewhat off the beaten track, but we liked that. Nice (if a bit small) room. Excellent public areas with DSL line, books, games, comfy chairs. Great breakfast. Friendly, helpful owners. Beautiful garden. Couple blocks to the water. We found this part of Orcas to be devoid of good shopping and eating, but this was partly... more

This is a great bed & breakfast overall. The innkeepers do a great job of preserving the integrity of the craftsman style of the b&b while integrating modern amenities. The bed was comfortable, although the bedroom is fairly small (Chickadee). The breakfast is very good with lots of the different choices. Its worth the walk to walk down to the... more

The previous reviewers have pretty much summed it up. We particularly liked the library area with the books and games, and our daughter loved the ambiance. We stayed 4 nights, and breakfast was different every morning, with several courses - fruit, muffins, pancakes, all homemade from scratch. We had the flicker suite, with 2 beds in the bedroom, and a... more

My wife and I spent two wonderful evenings at the Kangaroo House and left extremely satisfied with our experience. Our room was the "Stellar Suite," which contained a very comfortable king bed with nice sheets (high threadcount), a separate sitting room -- which can double as another bedroom for those with families (has a pull out bed), and it's own... more

We stayed here last Fall, and liked it so much we came back. Our second stay was even better than the first. Charles and Jill made something different every morning. The almond tart was melt-in-your-mouth good. The baked nectarines were absolutely delectable. Wow! We stayed in the Nuthatch Room this trip. It has a queen bed that's surrounded by a... more

Of all the places I've stayed at throughout North America and Europe, Kangaroo House is at the top of my list. At once the warm atmosphere invited me in and let me feel at home, even before being welcomed by the innkeepers, Jill and Charles. After getting settled in the room, I took some time to walk through the lovely... more

We loved our stay at the Kangaroo House. It was within easy walking distance of the village called Eastsound. (restaurants, grocery store, shopping). The owner (Charles) was very nice and their breakfast was excellent. His wife was out of town on a business trip but she finally arrived that last day. It is really nice to talk to them and... more

We could not have been happier with our stay at the Kangaroo House. Charles & Jill are fantastic innkeepers -- their gourmet breakfasts each morning are a particular treat, but the whole atmosphere is completely relaxing and lovely. Great location (close to town where the restaurants are, but also close to Moran State Park). Beautiful, interesting decor (lovingly maintained with... more
