This was our 4th time at the Salish Escapes. It is always peaceful and accommodating. You need this experience. If you go, spend more than two days to get the full experience of the island and rest in their cabins. ~ Kwade

Had a great weeklong stay at the Seal Point Cabin with kids and grandkids - and our two dogs. The accommodations were comfortable and the views from the main floor and deck amazing. Close to Eastsound and many island amenities. The staff were prompt and extraordinarily helpful in resolving a few glitches we had with the appliances in the cabin. Although the larger property includes shore-side decks, there is no access to the water’s edge on low tide, which would have been nice to explore with our youngest family members. The grounds are nice and well kept. Overall a great value and worth a return stay.

This is the second time Rebecca and I have stayed with the Salish Seaside Escapes. The first was at the Swoop Owl and this time at the Orcas Watch. Both cabins were full of amenities and sparkling clean. As their name indicates, these resorts are theme based and we were delighted to explore the decor.

Perfect setting on Orcas Island. The privacy, cleanliness and responsiveness of the owners making sure we had everything needed were all superb. The Salish was the highlight of our trip to the San Juan Islands and we would give it our highest recommendations!

Room Tip: Plan way in advance for dinner out. You need reservations and most restaurants close fairly early.

The pictures do not do this place justice. I visited with my husband and in-laws for a week in June. Seal Point was perfect for the 4 of us - so spacious (could have slept 4-6 more comfortably), amazing views, and situated on incredibly adorable property. Check-in was a breeze, and communication with the owners was very easy. That said, the only "issue" we texted them about was seeing if we could extend our stay! Easy to walk (45 mins) or bike (10 mins) to downtown East Sound - otherwise, a quick 5 minute drive will get you there. We spent most days sitting on the back porch watching for wildlife - bald eagles, hummingbirds, and orcas were the highlights of our trip! We couldn't have asked for a better vacation "home" - I hope to make it back to The Salish soon! One note for those who aren't planning to eat every meal out - We tried to cook at least one meal per day. The house has one cutting board and a random assortment of kitchen tools. If you need something special, definitely plan to bring it yourself. And bring any spices you may want, too!

We stayed in the Eagle's Nest cottage on our first anniversary and again last weekend for our 18th. It is a gorgeous little snuggly retreat. The views are amazing, the cottage comfortable and charming. Plus, you've got to love sunset from the hot tub. We'll be back!

My wife and I decided to spend a month working remotely from Orcas Island. We stayed in the Salmon Shoal home and had a wonderful time. The living room has a sweeping view of the water and we spent many hours gazing out the window and watching boats go by in the distance. Because we were working the whole time, internet was very important, and the cabin had reliably fast internet. There was never an issue if we were both on video conferences or if one of us was streaming something while the other was working. Our hosts were very attentive and always made sure that we were comfortable and had everything we need. Anytime something came up, such as a brief power outage after a big storm, they would check in to make sure we had enough firewood or gas in the grill to cook dinner. We have stayed here a few other times over the years and this is by far our favorite Orcas getaway.

Wow--is my response to this wonderfully artistic and obviously lovingly created cottage. Looks like an old world fairy tale cottage in lush vegetation from the outside. On the inside, everywhere you look there is a creative or magnificent detail. And so many amenities--three person tiled grotto-like tub, private hot tub, multi-function toilet (25 things it does, maybe?), well stocked kitchen, duel level propane fires, view balcony and outdoor cooking porch...I could go on and on. A wonderful stay!

We had a great family Thanksgiving. We had 2 units and Salmon Shoal had a complete kitchen and enough furnishings to easily take care of the 6 of us. With Managers Maggie and Thane now on site check in and assistance with questions was a breeze. They make a great addition for the property. This is not a hotel, but a place you can feel at home.

My husband and I spent three nights in the Eagles Nest. Such a charming little cabin with extraordinary views. We loved having a private deck and hot tub. The kitchenette had a four burner stove top and an oven, plus a full fridge and microwave. We also used the grill one night. The coffee was some of the best we had on our trip. Easy walk into Eastsound. Thank you to the Sweet family for the warm welcome and wonderful place to stay.
