I stayed here for two nights to attend a surprise 50th wedding anniversary party. The hotel occupies the second floor of an older building in downtown Cathlamet. Although my room was small, everything was clean, updated, reasonably priced and very charming. Across the street is a Mexican restaurant where I had a very nice meal. A paved trail leads to... More

We had a family reunion in Cathlamet and the owners/staff at the hotel couldn't have been more accommodating. The rooms are clean and have the basics. It is just what they advertise. We had a great time and hope you will too.

I've stayed at the Hotel Cathlamet a couple of times for work (we have a field site in the area) and was pleasantly surprised by how nice it is. They've done a good job of renovating the hotel and maintaining the historical charm while also providing modern amenities and style. I've only stayed in the single room, but it was... More

We had never visited Cathlamet, but needed to stay close by for a wedding at The Villa at Little Cape horn (excellent and gorgous place to get married, or other formal event). Not sure what we would experience as we approached the sleepy town. We came in late that Saturday evening, and had been previously given our door code for... More

We were directed to this hotel by a local. There was no-one in reception, you had to ring from a phone on the wall and wit for some-one to come. The rooms are very small and the decor is brown which brings the walls in further. There was a small fridge sat on a table and nowhere to put anything.... More

Thank you for your review! I couldn't agree with you more. On our web site, www.hotelcathlamet.com, you will find the words "very basic but clean and comfortable" to describe our rooms. Every room has at least a bed, night stand, reading lamp, bathroom, cable T.V and free WiFi. Some have desks, additional tables and chairs and refrigerators. All the rooms... More

Under hotel amenities on this site, it says free breakfast. In fact you get a $5.00 coupon per room, not per person to go downstairs to the restaurant which charges $9.00 per person for two eggs, bacons and toast! Hotel Cathlamet needs to correct their information. That was an unplanned expense. Wont stay there again.

Thank you for your review! We offered a continental breakfast when we first opened, but now we do send our guests downstairs to Thyme Square Bistro which is located adjacent to our main lobby. Guests are given a $5 coupon (or more depending on room/rate paid) to use toward whatever they'd like in the Bistro. This information was changed on... More

Stayed here one night, a fine spot if you need to stay the night in Cathlamet! Clean, quiet, comfortable. Nice view of the river provided lovely sunset view. breakfast was sparse, but understand they will be serving breakfast at the cafe downstairs. Would stay here again.

Our extended family (40 of us!) filled the hotel for a weekend family reunion...hotel owners Stephanie and family were so accommodating to our every need. The huge breakfast room/library opens up to a nice private outdoor area...perfect for our gathering. There are also cozy lounge areas to get away for quieter conversations or relaxing. The rooms are on the small... More

Hadn't been in Cathlamet since I lived there 50 years ago, when this hotel was little more than a boarding house for loggers (including my brother). Stephanie and her husband had just opened in June 2012, and my wife and I were the first guests! Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations - our room overlooking the quiet main street... Stayed one night at the hotel while visiting family; knowing it's past history as a nursing but taken aback by the smell, creaking floors, and sparse rooms. There are few alternatives in the area but I would definitely try somewhere else.

We are sorry you didn't enjoy your stay! Hotel Cathlamet is not for everyone. It is a very simple, beautiful building (creaky floors and all!) dating back to 1926. As our website states, the rooms are very basic but clean and comfortable. I'd like to make one clarification....the hotel was never a nursing home but rather an assisted living facility... More
