Great host and hostess and they give massages! Really what more could you ask for? The price was fab for this little gem. Peaceful place to just rest and watch the wildlife out the window. Deer and Birds kept us entertained until dark. The Host stock it with a nice assortment of breakfast treats and bottled water, juice, coffee, and... More

This B&B is not just a place to stay, but a place to enjoy. All the reviews have stated how peaceful and relaxing it is. One may have to share the unit if the other bedroom is rented but we had the place to ourselves. Spacious, great appliances down to grinder for coffee. The host have put a lot of... More

Really super stay at the Essence - loved the setting, the relaxation and the hot tub! The welcome was friendly, the room comfortable and the environment so chilled out. Mount St Helens is a fascinating place to visit and this is a really ideal place from which to start

This retreat is a beautiful refuge for the road weary traveler. All the other reviews have captured it perfectly: wonderful hosts, extraordinarily clean, beautifully decorated, deer and birds abound, etc. What more can I say except I wish we had allowed more time to stay there, hike some of the trails near the lower Mt. St. Helens visitors center and... More

My husband and I loved our stay at Essence of Health Retreat . It was such a peaceful place to rest and recharge during our great Pacific Northwest trip. The hosts are very friendly. You can use the hot tub or the fire pit. We were content just to sit in the rockers on the porch and enjoy the view... More

Quiet, clean, like new accomodations, great private meadow and forest views. Hot tub on the porch. Deer, hummingbirds. And really, really reasonable. Sorry we did not have time to book a massage also. Convenient to Mt. St. Helens and Castle Rock. My wife and I were there without kids, but the place is large enough to hold everyone.

Perfect and wonderful place to stay! After a day of exploring Mt. St. Helen's, we pulled into the driveway and a deer was feeding in front of the unit. How cool is that for a proper reception. The rental unit is quiet, beautiful, well equipped, immaculately clean and spacious. There is no TV, but there is free wi-fi. We caught... More

When my childhood best friend and our moms decided to visit Mt. St. Helens for the weekend, we set our expectations very low for the food and shelter aspect of the weekend. We were SO mistaken! Essence of Health Retreat offered quiet, privacy, peaceful backyard wildlife viewing, full kitchen including continental breakfast and 2 bedrooms with shared living space. It... More

Totally serene, zen like environment. Has everything you need and more. We loved the hot tub as we have one at home. Just enjoyed sitting in the chairs and watching the birds and the hummingbirds. The backyard looks out over a green meadow. We brought food with us for dinner and breakfast and it was perfect. We were fascinated by... More

This is a delightful place. The previous reviews here are accurate and the praise they give is well deserved. Essence of Health is particularly suited to those who value seclusion and peace. It's very comfortable, beautifully built and situated, spacious, well equipped, well run and the welcome is warm. It's ideal if you like being able to do a bit... More
