The Spirit Ridge Inn is a unique experience. When we arrived, we were given the top floor of the building, known as the "Forest Turret Suite", which consisted of a huge "great room" with a separate bedroom and bath. Decor is best described as "New Age": various Native American artifacts (dreamcatchers, drums, etc.) are scattered about the great room. There is a huge fireplace surrounded by a large collection of books and CDs, as well as an impressive sound system. Music is definitely one of the themes in the room; a fully functional computerized player piano was a lot of fun. The most unusual feature of the room is the "turret", a private circular chamber placed up a short ladder. It has a low parabolic ceiling that does wonderful things with sound.
