Part of the Inn at Narrow Passage is truly old. The portion of the Inn that serves as the Reception area and Dining Room is a log cabin that dates to colonial times. Ed will often have a fire in the fireplace to take the chill out of the air during breakfast. Breakfasts are always delicious and are so big... More

This was a wonderful and relaxing b&b to visit. My husband and I were able to get that romantic weekend we craved as well as taking a trip back in time. We got to stay in Stonewall Jackson room when he visited in the 1800's. Ed the innkeeper was so nice and very knowledgable of the History of Woodstock and... More

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful Inn the weekend our nephew got married. The room was lovely and comfortable and the breakfast was fabulous both days! We really enjoyed visiting with friends and family who also stayed at the Inn. Ed was a terrific host. We'll definitely go back!!

This is a wonderful place to experience the history of the Shenandoah Valley area! Innkeeper Ed Markel is a gold mine of information about the area & it's early history. The setting is worth more than an overnight stay if time allows. A trip along Hwy 11, the Lee Highway, will take you back in time to a more relaxed... More

My best friend and I stayed at this beautiful inn and planned to explore the area and also relax. We did both quite well. After dinner we both enjoyed sitting in the gathering room reading (something we don't get to do at home). If you tell Ed and Ellen what you need as far as accommodations, they will get you... More

My wife and I stayed at the Inn after a busy week touring Gettysburg and Colonial Williamsburg. It was our second visit to the Inn and was real nice to see Ed again and made to feel so welcome. After spending 5 days at chain hotels coming to the Inn at Narrow Passage was like visiting a favourite uncle at... More

My 13 year old daughter and I recently stayed at the Inn at Narrow Passage. Ellen (spoke with her on phone) and Ed, the proprietors, are a delightful couple. Ed is accommodating and very knowledgeable about civil war history. While the Inn is near Route 11, you would never know it, as it is tucked in behind trees, with the... More

My husband and I and friends have been staying at the Inn for a few years. We have stayed during every season and always enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Close to great dining and antique places and wineries. We have recommended to others and raved about the hospitality and received a great gift at retirement of a weekend at the Inn,... More

My wife and I recently stayed here while taking a fly fishing class at Murray's Fly Shop, about 10 minutes from the inn. It's clear that the owners take great pride in the inn and it's grounds. The rooms are cozy and comfortable; the grounds are lovely and the breakfast if very nice. It's just the right distance from DC... More
