Our family of four stayed here for the 4th of July weekend and we had a great time. The log cabin is beautiful and the farm was perfect for our kids (14 & 17) to wander around and see all the animals. The farm is an Animal Welfare Approved farm and it is clear the owners truly care about their... More

We were in Winchester VA for a family gathering and decided to stay at The Herd's Inn instead of a hotel. What a great decision! Our grandchildren woke up each morning looking for the llamas, peacocks, sheep, goats, cows, pigs, water buffalo, turkeys...and could not wait to explore. The log cabin was beautiful and well equipped with all we needed.... More

I wanted to give our grandchildren a working farm experience, and The Herds Inn was perfect! The large, restored 1800's log cabin was filled with delightful farm and nature antiques and amenities. Cozy rustic throughout, yet upgraded bathrooms, kitchen appliances, and a large usable fireplace. Totally authentic! The cabin was located centrally on the property, where the chickens, peacocks, and... More

You would be hard pressed to find a farm like this one. We drove over 5 hours to visit and were not disappointed. While they have discontinued many of the activities listed on the website, the animals were the real stars. Our kids were able to meet and greet baby cows, pigs, sheep, lambs, alpacas, kittens, turkeys and chickens at... More

Our family was really looking forward to staying at a working farm in a cozy cabin with our kids. On the positive side, the cabin is authentic and spacious for a family. It has two bedrooms, a living room, and a nice size kitchen. There are cows, llamas, sheep, lambs, turkeys, ducks, chickens, pigs, peacocks, and other animals to see.... More

Our family found wonderful peace and tranquility at the Herd's Inn. It's just outside Winchester, VA, only about 2 hours from Washington, DC. The farm property is large and rolling, with a nice view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. From the porch of our house, we could watch pot-bellied pigs, Jersey cows, a water buffalo, sheep, a horse, and many... More

We spent a Saturday night at Herd's Inn. When we first arrived, we drove through a long gravel road to our cabin. It cabin (the word 'house' better described it) is very spacious and clean. They only rent it to one party at a time. We have a family of 4 (2 & 4 yrs old). The look is rustic... More
