Five of our family stayed at the Cedars for two nights on a recent trip to Colonial Williamsburg. I made our reservations based upon the numerous guest reviews. Let me say that the vast majority are absolutely on point. The Cedars is well located, comfortable, quiet, and charming. The Innkeeper, Bob, is very enthusiastic. He is a big fan of... More

Normally I would give a nice BnB like this five stars, as it's very pretty, great location, lovely gardens, and well kept. We were at the top in the Wren room and it was fine for three, great bathroom by the way. I would just note a few things that I think ought to change: - The AC situation as... More

A very relaxing place to stay when visiting Williamsburg. We had foreign friends visiting with us and they loved the comfort of visiting a true American house. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, noting that this is B&B. Comfortable four-poster beds, and nice hot showers. There's a living room with the newspaper waiting. Lots of books on the shelves if... More

This is a cute b&b. Our room was very clean. The bed mattress needs to be replaced. They put a pad on it, but it wasn't enough to eliminate the big sag in the middle. The day bed mattress was hard as a rock and squeaked loudly with any movement. Good thing I had ear plugs. The breakfast was ok.... More

Wonderful breakfast to start the day. My husband and I took our 11 year old son to the old city. Great location. Was perfect for us. We stayed in cottage in back. I think I would have enjoyed the room inside more however, being in the cottage outback had its perks. Great place!!

We had comfortable, fun, and relaxing stay at the Cedars. I can describe it as home away from home, with good breakfast cooked for you! Also, warm drinks and cold water available in the breakfast room as you arrive. You can walk from it to the College W&M and to the Williamsburg attractions. A short drive to Bush Gardens where... Hi Jean12342015, Thanks for the feedback. We are very happy you enjoyed your brief visit to Williamsburg. Hopefully we will see a lot more of you and your family should William & Mary be your choice of colleges. We do have a promotion code for our W&M guests. Contact us for more information. We found that The Cedars was a bit tired and our room could use some TLC, especially the bathroom. The public rooms were fine and breakfast was very good on each of the three mornings of our stay. Bob, the owner, was on hand each morning to personally oversee breakfast. His exuberant personality and insistence on taking 'fun' photos at... More

Greeting WeeIrene, Thanks for taking the time to post this review. I am sorry that we didn't meet your expectations. I would have predicted that you were not enjoying the experience while you were with us. As I often say, we are not for everyone. As I just responded to another guest, the nature of the Colonial charm and the... More

Great location, lovely staff, and a very homely environment. Love that the breakfast food is homemade and changes daily, and Bob (the owner) was a terrific, engaging host. The two downsides: If you were to stay in the detached cottage which features two suites, you'd have to share the A/C settings with guests in the other suite. What if I... More

Hi MisterLevius, We sincerely appreciate the feedback and perspective. The nature of staying in a 1930 style inn is that some of the amenities are hard wired into the structure. Plumbing, air conditioning and room size are just things that cannot easily be changed without a very large price tag. We have spent over $350,000 over a 13 year period... More

Our two families traveling together stayed in the Cottage, and it was PERFECT. Before I go on to what is right about the Cedars, though, I do have one quibble and one warning. The quibble is that the breakfasts were just average for a B&B and quite redundant for the most part. (the same egg dish and breakfast breads assortment... More

Hi Kathryn, Wow. A very special thanks. We sincerely appreciate all the wonderful feedback and I will make sure everyone at the Cedars sees your comments. You make an interesting point about the Cedars breakfast room. It can seat 10-12 at one time. We can accommodate 22-24 guest when we have a full house. In those cases, we vary our... More

The owners of this home-like B&B treat all their guests as if they are family. We stayed this spring so we got to see their lovely gardens in bloom. The location is very handy for visitng the historic areaa as well as the university.
