The Providence Hall Guesthouses are, well, strange. They aren't guesthouses as the name suggests but rather just aging hotel rooms. The couple of buildings are a bizarre little "addition/expansion" of the Inn and at best are an afterthought. The first thing one notices is the styling: modern, concrete or some similar siding, flat roofs, vertical windows, glass doors, (and heavy... More

Recently stayed during the Fourth of July for two nights. For the price it is just not worth it at all. pros- within walking distance to a lot of attractions. Cons- the rest! The building reminded me of a 60-70's era dentist office. The entire place smelled damp and moldy. The building is old, not attractive and not in good... More

The room was very spacious, containing both a king-sized bed and a queen-sized sleeper sofa. The bed was quite comfortable, but I found the pillows to be a bit too soft. The sheets were soft and comfortable though the bed only had a blanket and a bedspread, not a comforter. There was also a nice patio/porch off the room that... More

Was running the Anthem Richmond Marathon and decided to stay in Williamsburg. What a fantastic weekend! Stayed at the Providence Hall Guesthouses and couldn't have been happier with the entire experience from check in to check out. The staff was kind and very willing to go out of their way to help me enjoy my weekend. The rooms were huge... More

Stayed at Providence Hall November 13-15, 2014 while in the area to run the Richmond Marathon. Beautiful, secluded setting nestled in the woods. First class accommodations, large comfortable room within walking distance to great restaurants in colonial village. Also had great time at spa post race to rejuvenate. I'll be back in late February to run the colonial William and... More

If you will be in Williamsburg, Virginia, this is the best place to stay. It is in walking distance of the entire restoration, William & Mary, and the golf courses. The rooms are very quiet and parking is convenient. This is not suitable for anyone unable to navigate stairs as there are no elevators.

I stayed here recently and have stayed at the Inn previously. While it's not as impressive as the Inn, we still had a very nice room. There was plenty of space, the bed was comfortable, etc. Some advantages to Providence Hall are that it's right next to a pond and that it's a bit more secluded than the other hotels,... More

We rented three rooms here for three nights in September for an adult family birthday celebration (ages 23-73!) and enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Providence Hall is located next to the fabulous Williamsburg Inn (which of course is much grander and way more expensive), so it is in easy walking distance to all the historic sites while being a little closer to... As I write this, we are checking out, right after just checking in. As I entered the building and when I entered the room, I was struck by a very musty, moldy smell. It is to the point of being nauseating. It is the smell of a building that has taken on water or has had a long term roof... More

Providence Hall Guest House is an "annex" of the Williamsburg Inn. The daily rate was $271 vs the Inn which is somewhere between $350-400 per night. In short, it was a disappointment. The rooms are quite large and nicely decorated but the place is "long in the tooth" having been built in the 60s or 70s. We don't go to... More
