My husband and I booked this hotel online. The website portrayed it as a nice historical setting hotel with a garden, very large pool, upscale restaurant and colonial style rooms. When we arrived, the outside of the hotel and the lobby was pleasant. However, the room was by no means decorated in colonial style....more like furnishings from the 1970's. The... more

We stayed for two nights in two rooms we reserved and paid for ahead. Upon arrival at night, only the "A" in the hotel sign on the street was lit. The parking lot was dark with little lighting. Upon entering our rooms, we learned one of them had no A/C working on a 90 degree night. The next room offered... more

A cousin booked several rooms here for our group without checking the reviews here. By the time I checked this site we were past the three day cancellation window. I called Ramada reservations to express my concern. I was advised that since we were past the cancellation date we should check into the room, rate it's condition for ourselves, and... more

After spending a night at this hotel in August 2009, I thought I'd share my horrible experience with the TA community When I arrived at this hotel, I was quite impressed; the grounds are very pretty and the hotel has a very nice exterior. Unfortunately, this is where the nice comments end. Everything else was horrible. Where to start? The... more

Looks good from outside but it had a dirty feel after the initial impression. Take your clorox wipes. You won't want to use the pool. Felt relieved when leaving. Even the 8 year old said "I don't want to come back here!" Needs to be remodeled. Would not recommend at all! more

The good: Relativly clean, no bed bugs, free wifi, free HBO and the price was OK. What I didn't like was very low water pressure, hot water that is not hot, the hot water is warm if you get up early enough but by 8:30 it's just a touch warmer than a cold shower. The room lighting is dim. they... more

As you drive up to the hotel first impressions are good. That soon ceases when you enter the hotel. The are around seems to be time share, all of which is better than this hotel. The staff were not over helpful. I asked for more hangers as we only had 6 between the 2 of us. The receptionist managed to... more

The hotel looks very nice from the outside and is located very close to Colonial Williamsburg, which is why I chose this hotel. The internet did work for us, even though I have seen other people complain about it. The hallway was dim and looked like it was out of a horror movie. The door looked like someone had tried... more

I chose this hotel for several reasons: (1) Location (2) On site restaurant/lounge (3) allowed pets for a fee (4) wireless internet in rooms. I booked a 4 night stay going by what they had on their website. The reservation was for Sunday, June 28 - Thursday, July 2. I called the hotel on June 27 to make sure they... more

Despite all the bad reviews that I have read about the Ramada 1776 Williamsburg we followed thru with our stay I however did check things out as soon as I walked into the room that is just how I am at any hotel though, I was very pleased we had a two bedroom suite it was exactly as the gentleman... more
