Upon arrival, the lobby was thick with the smell of cigarette smoke coming from a poker game in the front of the room. Upon entering our room, we immediately noticed a large red stain on the carpet (either red wine or possibly blood). First, I was very impressed with all the staff I came across...even in the hall, they would stop to say a very genuine "Have a great day!" It was really nice. The room was comfortable. We stayed in a king suite during our visit to Williamsburg. The room was very clean, fairly large, and very quiet---with 1 exception. Every time someone enters or leaves a room, the doors make a loud"clanging"noise as they latch. This can be quite annoying at 11Pm or 6AM. Let me begin by saying that this is a beautiful facility. It is very new and has all of the amenities one could hope for at a Holiday Inn Express. The rooms are large and well appointed.
