We were so looking forward to staying at the Lodge (we had stayed several times in the past but not since their renovations). Obviously the room we were assigned in the Tazewell Building was not renovated!!!! Room was dark and dingy. Which was probably for the best that way I could not see how unclean it was. Previous vacationers toothpaste... more

We found ourselves searching for a place to stay overnight in Colonial Williamsburg after visiting the Welcome center and realizing that almost all of the major programming takes place in the morning/early afternoon. Because our noon arrival prohibited our ability to fully enjoy what Colonial Williamsburg has to offer, we decided to use the visitors center hotel booking agent to... more

We stayed at the Lodge for 4 nights and have no complaints! It is convenient to everything and the place is immaculate. We ate in the lounge a few times and service and food were great. They just started with a Tapas menu and it was a pleasant change from the usual. One evening I ordered no salt on anything... more

We stayed at the Lodge because it is only a couple blocks from the historic area and a few more blocks to the restaurants at Market Square. We left our car in a free indoor parking area for most of the stay. It is across the street from the fairly new Spa. The spa building includes a great workout room... more

We found the location great, however the room was poor. The bed was the noisiest and most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on. Both my wife and I woke up with sore backs. The bed was noisy and I think it was the original bed when the Americans overthrew the British. It took us 2 days to get our... more

I would stay here again just because the location is so great. The rooms are small. The service could have been better. We waited a long time in line for tickets at the hotel. We ate breakfast in the restaurant 3 mornings and they got our bill wrong every day. The service at the breakfast buffet was horrible and the... more

The Lodge is a nice place to stay, and we try to visit annually. However, during the massive renovation, the place lost its Colonial charm and friendliness. True, there was GREAT attention to detail in designing the rooms, using folk art, etc., but the old facility had a much warmer, welcoming feel. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are huge,... more

An absolutely lovely experience. The property is filled with folk-art and furnished in a comfortable style. Rooms were spotless; amenities and services were fantastic. Attention to detail was very much appreciated. more

After a 9 hour drive from Atlanta, my husband, 16 yr old daughter and i arrived at Colonial Williamsburg on Dec. 27 and stayed 5 nights. This was our first trip to Williamsburg. I made our reservations after reviewing all the options in Colonial Wiliamsburg on their website and reading what others had to say about the accomodations on trip... more

We arrived on Christmas day to find the Lodge was very different than our last visit. The hotel was closed for a two year renovation of which we were unaware. The old lodge had charm and character and a feeling of history that the new hotel tries to convey. We actually had a room with a fireplace on our last... more
