If you are used to Hampton Inns and Hiltons, this is not the hotel for you. I booked a room because it seemed very close to the Downtown Williamsburg area (which it was) and because the hotel offers a very attractive admission ticket price to Colonial Williamsburg. However, I was disappointed at the facilities. It is just like a Motel... more

Yes it is an older property but it is well kept and in a peacefull location. We walked to the historical area which was only two blocks away. The room was nice and clean and the staff and breakfast were very good. Be aware that the buildings do not have elevators so if you have problems with stairs, be sure... more

We stayed at the Governor's Inn during a visit to Colonial Williamsburg from June 22-24th. We booked this room as part of a package deal through the CW website. The Inn looks like an old Motel 6 or Best Western. Nothing fancy but the room was clean (2 double beds, chair with table, small TV and bathroom) and served the... more

We stayed at the Governor's Inn for two nights. The property is within walking distance of Merchant's Square and Colonial Williamsburg. By staying here we were able to purchase discounted admission tickets to CW. The room itself was basic but clean. It was about what I would expect for the price. The free continental breakfast was convenient and good: pastries,... more

We stayed in Williamsburg for 3 nights on 6/12/08 - 6/14/08. The first night we found a ROACH in our room on the bed. We were moved to another room at The Governor's Inn. The 2nd night we found a ROACH in our "new" room. We traveled with another couple who also found a ROACH in their room on the... more

The Governor's Inn is okay, it is exactly worth the inexpensive price I paid. While this is part of the Colonial Williamsburg family of lodgings, there is nothing exceptional about this property. There was plenty of information at the registration desk but an odd question that apparenlty I had used an outside booking site because the attendent's computer locked up.... more

This is a motel included in the Colonial Williamsburg Hotels "set." It was the cheapest of those hotels. All I wanted was some place to sleep at night. It's nothing fancy, but that's not why I stayed here. You will need to drive to the Visitor's Center and park there (free) and then walk around Colonial Williamsburg. The room was... more

I don't know if I got a room that was due for renovation, but it was very old and beat up. The furniture was dented and scuffed, the rug was dirty, the bedspread was just plain scary. In the morning, I discovered that a very large spider had given birth in the bathroom to dozens of little spiders. The clerk... more
