This hotel was terrible. The staff was extremely rude, and that was only the beginning of our problems. The room was dirty- popcorn on the floor, food stuck on the refrigerator, sticky bathroom floor and toilet handle... There wasn't even a lightbulb in one of our lamps. The handle actually fell off the faucet at one point. The air conditioning... more

My family and I were traveling to Williamsburg and had reservations for a different hotel a day later. But since we decided to leave a day later for the 10 day hour drive, our original hotel could not accomodate for the day earlier. We arrived in Williamsburg at around 3am and we were exhausted. We checked other hotels in the area... more

This place is a disaster waiting to happen. Very unsafe, if you have small children, be extra cautious. The "hot-tub" was colder than the pool, then I noticed that the control for it was lying on the ground where a child could potentially be shocked and severely injured. We were unfortunately stuck and needed to find someplace...this place is a... more

Nice hotel -great location. Near the entrance to Col. Williamburg. The staff was very helpful & in fact faxed documents back & forth for a work deadline of mine. They were terrific. After reading the reviews we were ready to change hotels but it actually was not that bad- it was very basic but the pool was very nice-(most pools... more

I wish that I had read the reviews before booking. We had stayed here about 10 years ago and expected it to remain the same. WRONG!! There wasn't even a closet in the room ... just a metal peg in the wall to hang clothing! Ironing board, no iron. When I asked for one I was told that they didn't... more

This hotel should be shut down. Every area of the hotel is dirty and in a state of disrepair. I had intended to stay 6 nights at this hotel, before I saw it. We checked out after one night and went a few hotels away to the Sheraton. I contacted the hotel to complain after my stay and never received... more

We recently stayed at the Howard Johnson's in Williamsburg, Va. Upon entering the room the wall lamp had fallen off the wall & was laying across the tv. We immediatley called the desk & they sent a man to to fix it in about 1/2 hr. (he thought it was funny). We couldn't figure out how the maid had done... more

We arrived at the hotel and immediately noticed the shabby exterior. We decided to leave our bags in the car and check out the room. At the main entrance, an overflowing garbage bin attracted swarming bees. We checked in and took the elevator up. The elevator was dirty and the emergency phone was broken and hanging off the wall. The... more

We had a great experience at the Howard Johnson Historic Williamsburg, except for the fact that there was popcorn, tissues, and bottle caps on the floor, there was shampoo and used soap (with hair on it) in the shower, we had to switch rooms, the air conditioner wasn't great, the room smelled like smoke (it was non-smoking, but the smoke... more
