The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and there is a good dog sitter. Also, the indoor pool is very nice! although it need more ventilation because of the chlorine) the negatives are, the rooms are not soundproof, in fact you hear everyone going into and out of their rooms, the dogs went nuts. all the noise in the hallway,... Stayed at the Clarion for Thanksgiving. Very close to Colonial Williamsburg and Great Wolf Lodge. Lots of restaurants to choose from close by as well. The staff was friendly, especially Charles and Tasha. They went beyond the call of duty to make our stay enjoyable. There is coffee 24 hrs in the lobby, indoor pool and hot tub, and an... More

I have stayed at this particular Clarion numerous times with different scrapbooking groups. I was really DISAPPOINTED this time. Although the room was clean-looking, and the beds were as comfortable as ever, the room smelled of URINE.....instantly, as soon as you walked in, you were taken aback with the odor. It was NOT in the bathroom but in the room... More

We stayed here on the evening of October 11th, only because it was one of the few hotels with vacancies given our last-minute decision to stay in Williamsburg. In reading all of the negative reviews, I was very apprehensive about staying here. I have tried to be fair and balanced in my assessment: Pros: great location in Williamsburg, and a... More

Thanks you for an honest review. We are an older hotel and try hard with the service, location and sanitation. There are planned renovations to upgrade the items you mentioned. I will post on line when they happen and would hope after that you give us another try. The employees go above and beyond to serve our guest and would... More

Nice rooms, great food. The night clerk, Charles, is very pleasant and helpful. He Will make your stay more pleasent. The hotel is close I.e. within walking distance to the historic area. The bar is well stocked with good micro beers. Russ NOpe

WE do a lot of guest with the Road scholars group. The groups have such a great time when visiting Williamsburg. They spend a FUN adventure packed 5 days with us traveling the great sights in the area. I look forward to your next visit and can assure you we will maintain the level of service you have come to... We stayed here because we wanted to stay where friends were staying. What a mistake. The room smelled of urine and the carpet felt terrible on our bare feet. The entire hotel is in desperate need of renovations. Both the bathroom ceiling and the ceiling above the bed showed signs of prior water damage that had not been repaired. The... More

This is the first time I've ever felt the need to warn off others about a hotel. It's only merit is closeness to Colonial Williamsburg. Dinning area dismal. Train track noisy. Staff tried hard but hotel needs total refurbishment

Thanks you for the kind words for my staff. They try very hard to excel. We are an older hotel but we are a great price value. Our parent company stands strongly behind us and are going to invest in their asset soon. Sorry about train noise - we could have moved to front side of hotel. Thanks, Neal More

This is a close as you can get to the Historic District and not be in the District. The service, location, and staff were super. Clean, Comfortable and if you like within walking distance of the Historic District. Lots of restaurants near by and easy access to the reason you came to Williamsburg to start with.

We stay at this hotel whenever we come to Williamsburg and have our dog with us. Our dog is a large breed and this hotel is truly pet-friendly and has no restrictions on weight limit. There is a separate entrance on the bottom floor of the hotel for the pet-friendly rooms and this works out nicely for our needs. The... More

My husband and I redeemed some Clarion hotel points for a free three night stay at this hotel. Since it was a free stay we weren't too picky....We loved how close this hotel is to Historic Williamsburg (its about a one mile nice walk to get to the historic area) and an easy drive to lots of tasty restraunts and... We look forward to your next visit. Please bring your dog (size does not matter). No one should leave family behind. Our pet walker takes very good care while you enjoy your stay. Thanks again and see you soon, Neal More
