I really hope that those of us who love the Cascades will make a loud enough fuss to make sure it stays open. Apparently, it will close for good after this Christmas. What a shame as it's such a gem for those with pets or kids.

We have been coming to Williamsburg for the last 15 years. Last summer, we were going to stay at the Woodlands and the operator suggested the Cascades. We love the Cascades! We had all the amenities of staying at the Woodlands- pool plus kids water park, clean, comfortable room, breakfast-excellent staff and Manager, nice, friendly staff, Huzzah restaurant and great... Our stay was very comfortable and with the Woodlands amenities it was perfect for our family with a dog. Very conveniently located next to the Visitor center with shuttles to Colonial Williamsburg. Everyone was great and we would go back again.

The Woodlands Cascade is an old 50's Mom and Pop motel directly behind the newer Woodlands Hotel. Both are owned by Colonial Williamsburg. Though the Cascades is old, it is pet-friendly,well cared for,the price very reasonable and they are not charging any extra fee for the dogs. The wooded area outside the motel is nice - lots of area to... More

We have stayed here several times as it offers all the amenities of the neighboring Woodlands, except in-room internet, at about half the price. It was originally the Williamsburg Motor Inn and visitor center. Most of the buildings have been torn down and the old visitors center is now the tour bus center, but one building is left. The rooms... More

Every so often my husband and I, along with our greyhound, travel to Williamsburg for some R & R. We have stayed in quite a few places over the years but never the Cascades Motel. Why you ask? The answer is simple; we never heard of it before reading the reviews on Trip Advisor! Don’t know why, but for some... More

While The Cascades is apparently the dog-friendly hotel, we walked into our room and there was no animal odor whatsoever. The location is fantastic and adjacent to many local attractions (walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg as its one of their properties). Price was incredibly affordable and the landscaping is beautiful. Neighbors were quiet and friendly. Free, fantastic breakfast and there... More

This was my first experience at staying in the facility, and I hope to be able to do so many more times in the future. This motel was built sometime in the 1950's I think but it was still a great place to stay. Even though the rooms aren't "big and fancy" like some of the bigger chain hotels, this... More

I REALLY hope there is nothing to the rumor that this facility will soon close. WONDERFUL PEACEFUL location with large windows featuring a view of a wooded area which includes miniature golf, horseshoes, outdoor ping pong, shuffleboard, etc. There is a fantastic child friendly pool which rivals anything I've seen at Disney resorts! Pleasant short walk to generous breakfast options... More

We stayed at the Cascades for 4 days with our teenage children and my parents. I had a very difficult time finding a hotel or resort that would allow animals. I inquired about the Williamsburg Inn and was told there was a $500 security deposit and a laundry list of other pet rules. The woman on the phone suggested the... More
