I happened upon this gem of a B&B while I was doing some training at a local Lavender Farm. We all arrived in some of the coldest weather we have had in VA in quite some time. Dana had the place so warm and cozy the minute we walked in. She personally acclimated each of us to our rooms as... More

You girls were a "hoot!!!" Even though you had a "mini" stay, it was our pleasure to have you share our home. There is never a doubt that God has sent each and every one of our guests. There is no other explanation as to why we are sent such AWESOME people! We hope you can plan a "girls weekend"... More

Cross House Garden Inn is a warm and cozy B&B... We stayed New Years Eve and had a wonderful evening...It is amazing that this home was built in the late 1800 and its charm and beauty lives on. The Cross's were outstanding innkeepers....For us it was a great choice close to our daughter, charming, and warm ....

Dennis and I were blessed to meet you both. Our conversations getting to know more about each other could have continued into the next day. It was so good to have this time. We hope that our goodbye was only temporary and that we will see you back soon! Thank you for such kind words and conversations. Most of all,... More

We went to the Cross House Garden Inn when we could not find any B&Bs near Charlottesville, VA with an opening. Best misfortune we've ever had. We had a great room; the breakfasts were great; the hosts were super friendly; and the local area had a lot of things to see and visit. The well stocked Keurig was a real... More

I anticipated a convenient location and beautiful rooms for our stay. Which it was. But we were surprised by the blessings of Dana and Dennis' exceptional hosting. Wonderful hospitality and open hearted sharing truly make their inn a welcoming home away from home. Delicious breakfast, snacks and around the clock wonderful beverages available, private rooms, comfy beds, spacious bath; everything... More

We were very pleased to find a nice B&B near Luray and Skyline Dr. and were not disappointed in our choice! Had a very nice stay in "A Room With A View", and really enjoyed chatting with Dana and our yummy breakfast. Jamey enjoyed having the Keurig machine that is always available also. So glad we chose to go to... More

Our annual 1 night away from kids. Room with a View was great. Managed to get up and get a picture of the sunrise and pop back in bed to go back to sleep. We were the only guests so she accommodated a very late breakfast (9:45). Plenty of coffee to be had at any time of the day. We... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
An 1896 4 bedroom Victorian Inn & gardens nestled between Harrisonburg & Staunton, Va. Magnificent views of the Shenandoah mountains surround us here in the Valley. Our four guests room (1 on main floor & 3 on second floor) are completely furnished with lovely local antiques, reminiscent of the 1800's. Each room provides our guests with a private bathroom. *Our parlor offers a lovely sitting area to greet & meet new guests. During those chilly seasons, the fireplace invites guests to a cozy, quiet reading spot after a long day of activities. *The "formal" dining room is often used for special events, as well as seating for breakfasts.*The most requested breakfast room is the sun-room. Fully encased by windows, skylights and sliding glass doors, the sun-room is most accommodating to weather changes. It allows the warmth of the morning sun while accepting the sound of rain dropping on the skylights or the quietness of snow settling on the mountains. A time for quiet reflection no matter what the weather. *From the sun-room, the outside doors step out onto the patio. Two patio tables with umbrellas for protection, provide guests with a third option for starting mornings with tea, coffee & birds. The evening skies provide nature's own lighting, allowing an opportunity to enjoy the constellations while unwinding from the days events. *The garden paths offer guests a romantic stroll through the Country English gardens wrapping around a small pond stocked with exotic Koi fish. Benches throughout the gardens invite all the opportunity to sit and enjoy before returning from a stroll. In the evenings you sometimes have a magnificent view of the constellations, dropping so low from the sky you can almost feel them touching you!Being situated equidistant between Harrisonburg & Staunton, provides our guests with a plethora of activities & dining in & around the Valley. Antique shopping; local award winning vineyards; Birdwatching; Caverns/cave tours; Skiing; Museums; Shakespearean theater; fishing; miles of local hiking trails in and around the Blue Ridge Parkway, plus much more. All only minutes from Cross House Garden Inn. ... more   less
