Beautiful Americana from a bygone age. Essential essence. Mountaintop fog and views surpassing any hotel anywhere. Lush surroundings. Sacred. Zen residence. more

We did not stay here. A relative of ours booked a room here to attend our daughter's graduation. He didn't stay here either. It was too disgusting. Fortunately, we had an extra bed in our condo and he stayed with us. You can see it from the highway. My husband and I thought it was some abandoned government building. Need... more

We stayed here as it was close to the entrance to Skyline Drive. What a mistake. Ceiling was moldy and falling in, walls were moldy and bulging as if they were ready to completely crumble and the carpet looked as if it had not been vacuumed in months. Bugs, chunks of who knows what, and so on. Worst part was... more

My husband and I had been here years ago (80s) when it was a Holiday Inn and very nice. It is in the perfect location for 'fall leaf peepers' and winter skiers, right above the entrances to Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway and not far from Wintergreen. Unfortunately, I don't think there have been any improvements made since... more

Nasty, nasty nasty! Dulany needs to sell this place that could be so nice if someone cared about it! We have stayed there in the past and it was ok. We booked our room on line and went up there, Put our bags in the room which was awful! Went downstairs to get a bite to eat or to have... more

Stayed at this hotel almost 10 years ago and it was alright from what I remember. Well last weekend my girlfriend and I wanted to go up towards the mountains/charlottesville area and we decided to stay here NOTE: website paints a much nicer picture than what you actually get, which made us assume it was still nice. We get there... more

No kidding - this place was the worst. The first room given to us, already had occupants. We were switched to another room. The vanity was hanging off the wall, dead flies all over the place, stained carpets, terrible odor and a very old and worn woman's pajama hung behind the bathroom door. The water in the swimming pool was... more

My family and me stayed there for the Columbus Day weekend 07. The rooms are filthy. Big patches or carpet missing, and the chairs disgusting covered with dirt and stains. There was a mold smell throughout the hotel. We tolerated the place for two nights, but the third we where swarmed by flies coming from the curtains. That's right the... more

The Inn at Afton sounds nice; don't be fooled by its name. Rude staff, pet hair in the bed unable to get clean sheet because the front desk doesn’t do housekeeping, ripped carpet, mold in the bathroom, tub doesn't drain, lights don't work, broken handle on the toilet, coffee pot looked like it had last months coffee in it, no... more
