My wife and I made reservations at the Inn at Little Washington for dinner but found the prices for rooms there to be quite expensive. So we looked elsewhere for a place to stay. The Gay Street Inn fit the bill! The prices were very reasonable and our room was perfect. The owners, Wendy and Gary, were extremely nice and... More

Delightful. B&B just outside the Shenendoah National Park, but right in the very small town of Washington. The owners were warm, friendly and accomodating, and supplied us with descriptive suggestions for dinner. Gary has a history background, and filled us in on the history of the region. The rooms were very spacious, and immaculately clean. The Sferra linens were impressive.... More

A charming find, the innkeepers, Wendy and Gary are very nice. A late arrival sent us over to Sperryville where we found a great market with fabulous cheese, beer and prepared foods. The next morning we had a great run around the Little Inn at Washington's garden for and down Harris Hollow turning onto Sunnyside Orchard Road which dead ends... More

People tend to come to Washington, Virginia, either to eat at the Inn at Little Washington or to attend the events at Lorin Maazel's Castleton Festival. We came for the wonderful music at the Castleton Festival. The Gay Street Inn (which appears to be recently acquired by Gary and Wendy Aichele, the current proprietors) offered delightful, large and well decorated... More

Wendy and Gary Aichele have perfected the method of making every guest feel as if they are at home in their beautiful inn. Our room was nicely appointed and the breakfast was delicious. The port and chocolate were a nice surprise on our return to the inn after dinner. Don't plan on watching TV (there are none) and don't expect... More

We came to Washington to dine at The Inn at Little Washington and chose The Gay Street Inn because of the good reviews on Trip Advisor. Gary and Wendy were gracious hosts. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were outstanding.

This review is a bit late but heartfelt non the less. Husband and I stayed at the Gay Street Inn in March of 2012. We had made reservations at the Inn at Little Washington for dinner and the GSI looked like a much less expensive and still charming option at which to stay nearby. We were not disappointed. Everything was... More

Agree with the other reviewers- under new ownership, the Inn continues to be a great getaway and base for dining and exploring the Washington, Virginia area. And Gary and Wendy have also continued featuring the special coffee roast from the roasters up the street!

We had celebrated our 24th anniversary at the Gay Street Inn with dinner at the Inn at Little Washington two years ago. We decided to celebrate our 26th in the same way this year! The new owners of the Inn, Gary and Wendy, were delightful and the Inn remains a wonderful way to have a gourmet meal at the Inn... More
