As regular guests at B&Bs around the country for the past 30 years, my wife and I have experienced quite the range in service, hospitality, and quality of breakfasts, from barely adequate to exceptional. We were pleasantly surprised to discover the Gay Street Inn and its extraordinarily gracious hosts, Gary and Wendy. The Inn is located at the end of... More

This was a wonderful escape for the day and evening especially since Washington, Va doesn't have cell service! Gary and Wendy were wonderful hosts. Their B&B is warm and inviting. The stuffed French toast and coffee were awesome. They added to our celebration weekend.

My husband and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary at the Inn of Little Washington and and spent the evening at the Gay Street Inn. Both of us loved the dinner and found our evening at the Inn to be the perfect selection. Our experience at the B & B was stellar. The home of Gary and Wendy Aichele, Innkeepers... More

While Gary and Wendy started off lovely, handing my husband a toilet plunger in a garage bag to fix the toilet, instead of taking care of it themselves really disturbing. After saying the canned pears that were served for breakfast were too sweet for me, I was then grunted at for the rest of breakfast service. And even the cheapest... More

As Owners/Innkeepers, we do our very best to meet the expectations of every one of our guests. Sometimes, however, it's more about the guests than about their experience at the Gay Street Inn. We typically do not respond to guest reviews, but this case is an exception. Shampoo/conditioner and specialty soaps are provided in every guest room, and additional amenities... More

We, like many others, were looking for a nice inn in Washington, VA for our stay when we ate at the Inn at Little Washington. Gay Street is a nice combination of an historic home with modern conveniences. It is located just a block or so (a nice walk after dinner) from the Inn at Little Washington. We enjoyed spending... Gary and Wendy greeted us cheerfully and even sang a little welcome song for us. They have good reasons to take pride in their small, cozy and quiet B&B in a corner of quaint Washington, VA. Our room was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. A lavish breakfast was served in a sunny room with a lovely garden view. Located a... More

We stayed at the Gay Street Inn for a weekend getaway from Washington DC and we're glad we did. If you're aware of the food scene in the DC area you know that the Inn at Little Washington is a world-renowned Inn and restaurant in Washington, VA. Given it's price and months-ahead needed booking, we were looking for another place... More

This review is another positive one for Gary and Wendy, the owners of the Gay Street Inn. Rather than repeat what has already been said, I will say, I agree with all the 5 star ratings ! Beautiful gardens, comfy beds & linens, delicious breakfast, enthusiastic owners. My husband and I did the "whole enchilada" at The Inn at Little... More

We enjoyed our all too short very much. We were delayed by traffic in NYC which then dumped us in Washington DC during heavy rain and rush hour. I think you now the drill. We arrived late, tired and more than a little hungry. Our gracious hosts suggested a local tavern. As it was shortly before the Griffin tavern was... More

My husband and I had dinner reservations at the little Washington in, so we decided to just make a night of it. Checking in was a breeze. A breeze across that beautiful front porch, that is! It was not unlike arriving at a friend or family members home. After we arrived we went for a walk around Washington. Gay Street... More
