What a great property! There is truly something for everyone at Meadow Lane and in the surrounding areas. We stayed in the Lodge in a wonderful room, The Steinway. The bed and furnishings were comfortable, the entire property was spotlessly clean, and the continental breakfast each morning was nice. During our stay we spent relaxing hours sitting on the grassy... More

We discovered Meadow Lane while looking for a Xmas getaway in the mountains where we could take our lab...What a gift! Meadow Lane is a real gem; beautiful surroundings in Bath County Va-- one of the most scenic areas in Virginia. The River Cabin was perfect - overlooking the Jackson River, a pristine very well known trout fishing river and... More

We have been visitors to Meadow Lane for a number of years. We are glad that a new generation of family is providing the nice experience that we formerly had. Breakfast is awesome. Swiggle, the meadow cottage, is as comfortable as we remembered. Just the loveliest setting!

Spent the week-end in the Granary - one of the outlying cottages. My second visit. I Love this place! Close to Richmond, but a world away. Totally relaxing. The entire Lodge and surrounding cottages are so well maintained. A lovely place to enjoy the beauty that is Virginia. The best part - my husband caught his first fish!

I have lost count of how many times we have stayed at Meadow Lane Lodge. We have stayed in Car Barn, the Granary, River House and the main lodge. We leave tomorrow to stay in Steinway. Each time has been wonderful. Yes, gone are the days of Mrs. Hirsch sitting at the head of breakfast table, being the gracious hostess... More

We travel a great deal both here and abroad. There are very few times when a hotel/inn exceeds our expectations. Meadow Lane Lodge website does not do them justice. Situated on over 1,200 underdeveloped acres, Meadow Lane Lodge proved to be a wonderful getaway. The rooms were very well appointed, large and clean. The breakfast was an added bonus each... More

We had a wonderful experience at Meadow Lane. The most impressive part of this inn is the property: acres of gorgeous countryside, hiking trails, and serenity. The inn is decorated in good taste, and the innkeeper is very accommodating and friendly. We came to this area for the Garth Newell Music Festival, which was lovely, and the stay at Meadow... More

We visited Meadowlane Lodge in May 2008 and stayed in the lodge in the Steinway Suite. Other family members rented various houses on the property. We really enjoyed our stay in the lodge. It was clean, spacious and decorated tastefully. A generous breakfast spread was served daily and consisted of fresh fruits, yogurt, cereals and muffins, along with juice and... More

Our last stay at Meadow Lane was a cold weekend in February, two years ago. Although we thoroughly enjoyed a cozy weekend in Walnut Cottage, we sensed much had changed from previous visits. We had difficulty in communicating with the management at that time. I would trust that this situation has changed by now. My wife and I had been... More

This was our 7th stay at Meadow Lane Lodge. We are trout fishers and have enjoyed fishing the Jackson River stretch that passes thru ML properties, and the socialilzing with other trout fishers over communal meals. Our previous stays have been marvelous. However, the Lodge no longer offers breakfast, no longer offers weekend dinners, and is about to impose a... More

Meadow Lane has completely renovated the Lodge and Craig's Cottage. Breakfast is offered daily. We also have 5 fully equipped cottages. Catch & release fly fishing on 2.5 miles of our private, stocked section of the Jackson River is included in the rates for both the rooms and cottages. A $50/rod fee is charged for non-guests only, space permitting. Guests... More
