My husband and I have been going to the Cape Henry Inn for almost 4 years now and have always enjoyed ourselves there. The location can't be beat. However, the prices have been rising each year, with a Shoreview room now renting for $179 per night. At these prices, it would be nice if the rooms were updated or the... more

This is a military installation. If you are in a car without a decal, you will have to enter the gate closest to Atlantic Avenue and furthest from the Inn. After a long trip, that extra mile and security gate can offer a taxing hello, so pack some extra patience and plan to bear with it. Now, for the Inn-... more

Lousy deal. 2nd visit made it two-for-two being woken up by a fire alarm (the loudest I've ever heard--even outside). Beds were wrapped in rubber sheets and old and lumpy too. Even through the sheets, the rubber decreased comfort and was VERY noisy which aside from disturbing others will also disturb your own sleep. The beach was "red flagged" by... more

We stayed in one of the log cabins at the Cape Henry Inn. The 2 bedrooms were very small; however, they met our needs. There was also a good size loft with two twin beds and a futon in the living/kitchen area. The cabin was clean and well stocked with all essentials not normally found in a private rental beach... more

I was told that I was renting a beach cottage, on the beach. The picture looked like there was sand around the "cottage". What I got was a thin-walled, cheap quality, small, section of a tri-plex "cottage". I could hear everything next door and outside. There was an overgrown dune immediately behind the "cottage" (no access to the beach), and... more

Cape Henry Inn offers good value, and a pleasant, relaxing stay. Just come with the right expectations. This isn’t a high end hotel. The Inn is very laid back. It is reserved for DoD families; so the clientele is well behaved, compared to many Virginia Beach hotels. It caters to families on much needed vacations; not teen parties. All units... more

I have been going to the Inn for about 4 years now, several times a year. It is still a nice, affordable place. I can see why others rate it more highly than I do, because they haven't seen the changes over time. The Inn has been providing less and less service and charging more and more as the years... more

Just returned from a weekend stay. Check in was a breeze. We had a dune room, which meant it had a kitchenette. It had a two burner flat top stove, pots/pans, dishes and a microwave above. The appliances looked very new. Main pool was clean and not busy at all. Most people were on the beach. The beach was on... more

My family always stay at Cape Henry Inn when we go to VA Beach. You can't beat the price! The rooms are nice and spacious. It's always clean. It has it's own private beach and pools or you can choose to go to VA Beach which is just down the street. Doing laundry is free! If you are planning a... more
