I love the location on the beach. The price was average, seemed to be fair compared to other hotels in the area. The room itself was clean, just a bit "outdated" in our opinion. The main issue we had was the cleaning of the room. Our family (wife and 14yr old daughter) hit the beach every day of our five... more

My husband, myself, our 2 boys...aged 5 and 7, joined his family here for some catch up time. We booked a two room suite, so we could put the boys to bed early and still be able to stay up later without disturbing them. The boys had their own t.v. in the living room to watch. They also had a... more

We stayed at the Breaker's recently for the the 2nd time and the service has gone down hill. Sub-par service and the hotel is really showing it's age. Last year I praised the housekeeping staff, this year, it was awful. The towels were hard as sand paper and I suspect the sheets were not changed every day. So sad because... more

I find the comments hard to believe about the unfriendly front desk staff. We stayed in Virginia Beach @ the Breakers for the first time this past April. We were there for three nights and encountered three different people working the front desk. All were very friendly and helpful with suggestions on where to eat and what to see. Yes,... more

Cheap oceanfront hotel in middle of boardwalk... BUT ocean view may be block by ugly wall due to hotel's odd construction. Rooms are old and showing age and dirt.... Room service varies... Front desk staff frequently not there and vary from friendly to not so friendly. Elevator - only one and it is slow and hot -- they have a... more

I knew I was booking an older hotel so I was a bit nervous. However, it turned out that my girlfriends and I were really impressed by this hotel. Front staff and cleaning crew were all super friendly and helpful. Room was very clean with a great view. There was even a personalized welcome letter on the desk, something you... more

I just visited Virginia Beach this past weekend and besides the rainy weather I enjoyed my stay. The Breakers is located in the middle of all the action on the strip. We could pretty much walk to all of our destinations. The parking was definitely limited, there was no business center and the pool was pretty tiny, but that wasn't... more

I do not know why this hotel gets good reviews because it was a dirty and horrible hotel. The staff was rude, the tiny pool was dirty, and the room reeked like smoke even though I requested a non-smoking room. When I spoke to the rude staff about the smoke filled room, the maid came in and sprayed Lysol which... more

The Breakers is oceanfront and has balconies on each room that face the ocean. We stayed in room 502 it had a wonderful view of the pier and ocean. We had a king bed, with a hot tub, frig., and microwave. This is an older hotel and is not one of the fancy chain hotels. Our room was very clean... more

I loved my room. It was clean and warm and inviting. The view was great I never closed the curtains. I enjoyed sitting on the private balcony every morning to watch the sun come up. I saw dolphins from the balcony and watched all of the fishing boats go out every am. The closet in the room was huge and... more
