Our family members have been going to this very nice state park on the bay, very near the ocean, for several years. Some of us rent cabins; others stay in the campground, which now has water and electricity in most RV sites. There are walkways across the dunes to the water, where you can swim, fish or crab. Orderly pets... More

Sometimes when camping a certain park just hits the spot and this one did. We were in Va Beach after summer season. Weather was perfect and crowds were gone. The State Park has amazing sand dune sites with plenty of privacy from the next site. Campfires allowed. Beach access. Clean hot showers. Water and electric hook ups and dump station.... More

We went on 8/24/13 and loved it. It was quiet and even though the walk to the beach was a bit far it was worth it. Clean and not crowded at all. I loved that we were able to bring our puppy with us. I did not see any unleashed dogs on the beach at all. Everyone was very respectful... More

We arrived on the Sat night before the July long weekend. Site was nice and large near the beach. Only issue I had was Fire pit was far behind us and privacy in front were our trailer was parked had no privacy. Other then that a very nice site and large. So we received a letter that there was a... More

This state park gives you access to the beach, which is much quieter than the actual Virginia Beach. It is convenient to plenty hotels and restaurants and has an awesome campground with many spots close to the beach. The visitor center has some neat displays and has several fish tanks that my grandson found interesting. There is free wifi at... More

This was our 2nd trip to Va Beach. On both occassions we visited First Landing and loved it. The bay is so safe for smaller children and the beach is clean and beautiful. There is a nice area to shower off when leaving the beach and the restrooms are well cared for. The sunset is absolutely gorgeous and it's nowhere... More

After staying for one night at Kiptopeke State Park, we came here for our second night of a weekend trip. While Kiptopeke was lovely, it had one problem: no dogs on the beach. First Landing, on the other hand, was a great for dog lovers. First, the sites. On a Saturday night, we had our choice of a few different... More

Another VA state park that we really enjoyed! The walk over the dunes to the beach is a bit of a trek, but ended up being a labor of love. Love the shadiness of this park. Bath facilities could be tidier, but it's not the worst I have ever seen. Staff was very friendly. Be alert of the one way... More

The two-bedroom cabin we rented was fairly basic and dated, but it was clean, spacious and set back from the access road. Quick walk to a few hiking trails, including one leading to the beach, on the other side of 60. Nice, quiet and seemingly tucked away, though it's just a short drive to grocery stores and restaurants and the... More
