When we planned our vacation to the beach, we knew we wanted to stay at The Cavalier. We have always had a pleasant visit their over the years. It is outdated, but I had no real complaints during our visit there this week. Staff was extremely pleasant and very helpful. The breakfast was ok, but it was free. Met some... More

We stayed for 3 nights in august. We enjoyed the location, right on the beach and although we stayed on the first floor with no balcony and just a little ocean view we didnt mind it, very close to the main door and pool. It was quiet. Shower curtain was in really bad condition but they replaced as soon as... More

You get what you pay for - less expensive than most other hotels on the beach and probably not as nice. As others said, the furniture is pretty dated. Had to ask for a 2nd set of towels. All the rooms have a view of the beach at least vs other hotels. The only free parking is across the street... More

first of all I would like to say that Expedia mislead me and I will not use that travel agency again! It was an overpriced room that did not met my requests. first I wanted a room on a higher floor. the ranks for towels in bathroom where broken and the housekeepers them selves complained of the mismanagement. I guess... More

Simply put the amenities are nice but the quality of the facility is not great. The room is super dated, with mismatched furniture, nonworking lights, bulbs missing in others, and a musty smell. The freezer in the "tiny" refridgerator is completely frosted over, couldn't even fit my hand in it. Walls are "paper thin" , the noise from our neighbors... More

When we got to our rooms at The Cavalier Hotel it smelled a bit musty. Then we looked in the bathroom and there was black mold on the ceiling! Our shower head was breaking off. They didnt give us enough towels. Our hotel key wouldn't work, so we had to get it reprogramed more than five times! I tried to... More

We stayed here once in June and liked it so much, we booked for 5 days in July to bring our son back. The hotel is very clean and we had mostly no issues. The one and only issue we had was that the shower, the water would not drain properly. We had this issue in two different rooms. It... More

1st we were upgraded to a beautiful Junior Suite. The room was lovely & the bed was surprisingly comfy. Nice jetted tub. The outside wall did fall off in the middle of the night but maintenance was there on time next morning to fix it. The only complaint was the terrible maid service. After day one we just stocked up... More

I have been coming to the Cavalier for 14 years and now that it has been sold, it is different. The plus is that with the Hill closed, there are fewer people in the pool, on the beach and generally all around. The downside is they don't serve a true breakfast anymore, it's continental and included. And when we arrived,... More

When we arrived at the Cavalier I noticed that the hotel flag was at half staff, that was a very telling sign. This hotel is closing September 1, 2014 to be demolished. The staff and news media confirmed this. Here is one of the many news articles from the local news: http://www.wvec.com/my-city/vabeach/Developer-to-unveil-plans-for--210976041.html That pretty much says it all- STAY AWAY!... More
