I loved this B&B. I enjoyed talking with Bill about his gardens and the history of the place. The breakfast was faboo! I don't know for a fact, but the butter and yogurt seemed way better than your average grocery butters and yogurts. The toast toppings seemed homemade. The place is decorated more to my taste than any other B&B... More

Judith & Bill are perfect hosts; warm and welcoming and truly professional. Their home is immaculate and very comfortable. Our room 'Cornwall' was spacious and light and the bed and linens are quite wonderful. Breakfasts were nutritious and delicious and quite substantial. I appreciated the inclusion of cereals, fresh fruit, and yogurt alongside their freshly cooked breakfast dishes. There are... More

We stayed in the Cornwall room for a Friday-Sunday visit. The entire experience was wonderful, from the welcoming ambiance of the front sitting room, to the friendliness of our hosts Bill & Judith, to the comfort of the bed, to the fantastic breakfast served each morning. Snacks and fruit out and available during the day, coffee available early before breakfast,... More

I certainly have a "mixed" history with B&Bs--a few delightful experiences but too many of them have been disappointing (and a few creepy)--I will not sour this review anymore by writing of past stays but I wanted to set the tone for why it was with much trepidation that I booked a stay at Atherston Hall (rather last minute) for... My husband and I recently went to Urbanna for his school reunion. We stayed in this delightful B & B and wished we could've stayed longer. The property is soulful and is a wonderful little peek into the owners/hosts world. Tasteful, delicious, restorative! Worth going just for the divine sheets ( that are ironed for your visit! IRONED!!!!!!)

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Atherston. The owners were great company and breakfast was amazing. Our room (Somerset) was beautiful and comfortable and we almost never wanted to leave! I would highly recommend staying here if ever in the area.

Just spent one night at Atherston Hall B&B and we were sorry it was not more. Place is spotless, beautifully and simply decorated with English County themes. When it comes to B&B's they have set a standard way above what we have ever experienced before (and we have stayed in more than a few). Breakfast was fresh and plentiful, would... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Urbanna and the Atherston Hall B&B. The innkeepers are very hospitable, professional and welcoming. The Inn is comfortable, beautifully decorated and immaculate. Our room was pet friendly and we brought our Border collie, the arrangement was perfect. The breakfasts were delicious and hearty and beautifully presented. We are eager to return.

We just returned from three delightful days in Urbanna VA at the Atherston Hall Bed and Breakfast. It is a lovely B&B where we were made to feel like home, welcomed, fed and rested. Judith and Bill, accompanied by faithful pets Savannah and Rose, make every detail work. It was all we wanted and more. A lovely porch to enjoy... More

Wonderful warm English welcome in a very English country home atmosphere and Very IMMACULATE. Stayed in the Somerset suite which was lovely and spacious. They have very polite dogs (labs) but well restrained and sweet. We love dogs and would love to know how they don't have any sign of dog hair anywhere!! Lovely fresh breakfast looking into garden. Went... More
