I have to say that this place was a real disappointment. I suppose if you live in the city and never get to see open spaces, it might be nice, but otherwise, I would pass. When we walked up the stairs to the restaurant area, we were greeted by a surly woman who said that if we didn't have reservations,... More

Had a really good time at the Apple festival. Had blue grass band playing, tons of local vendors with crafts and food. Enjoyed a funnel cake and pumpkin spice handmade donut. Plenty to eat while walking around enjoying the pretty trees. Pick your own apples was closed even though website said it was open. Plenty of apples to choose from... More

We visited as a group and had reservations, they seated us promptly. The food was good but it was a weekend so a buffet rather than family style. The food was good, prices fair and the service was good. If there was any negative the drive getting in was a long wait and I do mean a long wait to... More

Came to Graves Mountain Lodge for a conference. Was a little late getting there and quite worried by some of the comments from people who had already checked in -- rooms smelled bad, there were bugs, no amenities, bad lighting.......so actually I was somewhat relieved by my room which was in the newer building and didn't smell dank or have... If you are looking for peace, quiet, tranquility and awesome food, look no further! I planned our annual family reunion this past July at Graves Mountain Lodge. The theme of the year was connection. So often we are so connected to our phones, televisions, iPads etc. that we lose connection with one another. Graves has zero cell service. There aren't... More

We came for a weekend of hiking in Shenandoah National Park and stayed in one of the cottages at the lodge. It was quaint, comfortable, rustic, and spotlessly clean. We appreciated the easy access to hiking trails and the ability to bring our dogs for the weekend. We opted for the meals in the lodge, where the food was plentiful... More

We went to Graves Mountain Lodge for a little Get Away, we stayed at the Hilltop, the rooms are modest, and adequate, but the lighting is very poor. The porch was a delight with the rocking chairs & the view of the mountains. The food is family style, and average, nothing to write home about, but it is plentiful. There... More

We camp here w our horses and eat at the lodge. The camping is fantastic, and the meals are delicious! The trails for the horses are quite nice also. A little rocky in places, but very nice ride. It is very quiet and relaxing. No phones service, but that makes it even more relaxing.

The lodge is about 2 hours from Washington DC. The rooms are only okay. The POOL is wonderfully cold. The food is country food, served family style. Wonderful setting near hiking trails, with a small river right below the lodge. Small basketball court. There are festivals here at certain times of the year. No internet tho.
