We enjoyed a nice weekend at the Inn at Vaucluse Spring in the Shenandoah Valley. We stayed in the main house in a beautifully furnished room complete with fireplace, bathtub, and comfy bed. We enjoyed how close we were to all the sights in the area and splurged on a four course meal Friday night (worth it!). Breakfast was fresh,... More

My wife and I stayed in the Marshall Room in the Manor House Winter Kitchen for two nights in July. Our trip to the Shenandoah was delayed due to illness but Neil was very willing to change our reservation. We arrived late on a Tuesday afternoon and Neil showed us around the main floor of the Manor House and explained... More

My husband and I visited the inn for the first time last weekend (August 14 - 16) for our 15 year anniversary. We stayed in the Mill Pond Studio and I have to say that the entire inn absolutely exceeded our expectations! We were so pleasantly surprised and cannot wait to go back! First - the grounds and accommodations are... More

We first went to the Inn at Vaucluse Spring for our 5th anniversary in 1998. We came back for our 22nd anniversary last week. We've changed. They haven't. Still romantic, food is still absolutely remarkable and now -- as an extra bonus -- they can cook gluten-free. The setting is just as beautiful as ever.

We stayed in the Strother room at this beautiful, quaint and quiet B&B about 10 min south of Winchester, Va. The hotel is located at the end of a long, gravel drive that puts it almost a mile away from the nearest paved road. This isolation made this the most quiet and peaceful hotel stay that we've ever experienced. We... More

Vaucluse Spring has “warned” us several days before our visit that Chef Adam, the long-time master of the kitchen at the Inn, had been offered a position elsewhere that was too attractive to refuse. We were unable to be there for one of his farewell dinners, which disappointed us. Vaucluse Spring is a beautiful and remote-feeling site in the Blue... More

The Inn at Vaucluse Spring is a gem in Northwestern Virginia. We stayed in the main manor house and the surroundings were beautiful. Sitting on the front porch you get a feeling of serenity. The grounds are relaxing and the staff very attentive. We are regular visitors to Select Registry Inns and the Inn at Vaucluse Spring is one of... More

For those of you who are wondering if the dinners at the Inn at Vaucluse Spring will lose any quality or creativity with the departure of Chef Adam, put your mind at ease! Chef Allan is superb. We had a Friday and Saturday dinner that he prepared this past weekend and everyone raved about his presentation style, his artfulness and... More

Excellent on-site restaurant (portions trend small), historic property in the upper Shenandoah . . . B&B run by experienced owners who know the area (vineyards, restaurants, amenities). Clean rooms, plenty of parking, modern AC, spacious well-kept grounds, on-site wifi. Most guests were repeat visitors.

My husband and I enjoyed the cabin by the pond as a get-a-way last spring. We liked the seclusion of the cabin being separate from the main house--very romantic, and it had snowed so we felt even more excited to spend the night by the fireplace together. We played Scrabble and drank wine in the wooden rocking chairs. The big... More

Thank you for your thoughtful comments. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at Vaucluse for the most part and wanted to briefly address the areas where we failed to meet your expectations. The question of “To-TV-or-not-TV” is a difficult one. For every guest who thinks it would be a “nice touch” to have a TV in the room,... More
