This is a beautiful spot and the inn is run by very hospitable owners - Jeff & Becky let us use their fridge for takeout leftovers & loaned us an umbrella in the rain. It was obvious they were concerned to make our stay really nice & it was. We were only able to stay for one night this time,... More

Jeff and Becky made us feel like family. They were so concerned everything was to our liking. Stayed 3 nights and didn't want to go home. Breakfast was delicious, I loved Becky's baked oatmeal. Dinner melted in our mouth, best duck I have ever eaten. Enjoyed the deer outside our window during breakfast. Just what my husband and I needed,... More

We needed a fall getaway - away from kids, work and suburbia - and this was it. The inn completely fits the surroundings...calm, rustic and comfortable. The owners, Jeff and Becky, make you feel like you are staying with relatives (and relatives you like, to be clear!). The food is delicious - from the hearty dinner to the awesome breakfasts.... The access to it is a forest metal road. But its grippy and unless you are a hopeless driver its no problem. Becky and Jeff are so welcoming and you can tell they are people of faith by their kindness and concern for you. We had the room in the lodge and it was big and had everything we needed.... More

What does "The access to it is a forest metal road. But its grippy and unless you are a hopeless driver its no problem." mean? That's New Zealand English for "It's a Tar and Gravel Mountain Road that has plenty of traction so unless you're a really lousy driver, you'll do fine!" More

Stayed for one night on our way traveling the BRP. This place is unique in its location and we will definitely come again. No detail was overlooked by Becky and Jeff. Our room was immaculate, incredibly quiet even being in the main lodge, and we thoroughly enjoyed the huge jacuzzi tub in the room with a real wood burning fireplace.... More

If you and your love want to get away and just be into each other than this is the place for you. Off the beaten path and high in the Blue Ridge Mountains they have about 12 rooms for you to choose from. Breakfast is excellent and so is dinner. They are located on a winding mountain road so you... More

We spent a wonderful week at Sugar Tree Inn. I cannot find one thing that I would change. We were greeted by our host, Becky, who made us feel very welcome, even though it was 8:00 at night, and well past check-in. She and her husband, Jeff, are the warmest, most gracious people. She gave us a tour of the... More

Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, The Sugar Tree Inn is a perfect spot for a truly relaxing get-away. We arrived when the surrounding forest was exploding in autumnal colors and the air was turning crisp. There is simply no bad view! We would suggest arriving before dark as the access road is a twisting, turning affair, which could be... More

The directions to the place were spot on. We were greeted quickly by the friendly owner Becky on arrival. After a brief tour of the main lodge we arrived at the St. Mary's cabin. It was a clean and cozy place to stay two nights. Dinner was tasty and served on time with warm service. Beautiful Fall mountain scenery surrounds... More

This is a unique property, a forest lodge with the personal character of a bed-and-breakfast. The location is beautiful, isolated, yet very convenient to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our room, in one of the outlying buildings, was very pleasant and comfortable; a lot of thought and care went into its furnishing. The main building has a marvelous "great hall" that... More
