A beautiful B&B which is very efficiently run by owners Joe and Evy. Every room is different, and they have quite a few. They have guest parking and are right in the centre of Staunton so you can walk to everything in the town. Breakfast is homemade and delicious. Joe and Evy love their town and know all the good... Our suite was very comfortable (although we did hear all the churchgoers next door at 8am), the beds were wonderfully effective on my very sore back, with soft soft sheets that even my kids noticed. Breakfast is a choice of 5 items and substitutions (or other accommodations) aren't entertained. Nice people though!

The owners of this hotel, which spreads over three converted elegant city houses, are also sponsors of the Shakespeare theater. We enjoyed lovely quiet nights in a high canopy bed, two excellent breakfasts and saw two shows that were included in the price of the rooms. Staunton is a pleasant town to poke around in, and the theater itself (a... More

We shared a suite in the Cochran House with our adult daughter. One queen bedroom for her and another queen bedroom for us. Separate doors, separate climate control with a shared entry way and shared bath. Our stay was just delightful and perfect in every way. Joe and Evey were marvelous hosts and made sure that everything was taken care... More

From my first contact with Joe to a charming breakfast and a very comfortable sleep, this absolutely was the right choice for my stay in Staunton. A weary traveler, I call Joe at 7 PM the night of my stay. He was professional friendly and available to assist with directions, dinner plans, and patiently waited for me to arrive. Because... More

We enjoyed our room, with charming touches like stenciled trim, but the owners and the gourmet breakfast that they served were the real treats. This is an excellent location in downtown Staunton, within walking distance of most restaurants and shops, as well as Mary Baldwin College with its Woodrow Wilson Museum and Library. The 22 rooms are located in three... More

Really enjoyed this place. The hosts were really helpful , and just delightful . The breakfast was very very good, with the menu on the coffee mug. The rooms was comfortable and the town was really cool. I wish we could of stayed a few days longer, but was just traveling through for the one night. I would of loved... More

We found this quaint hotel while walking around Staunton. The hotel has about two dozen rooms. We stayed in room 21,a spacious suite with an super comfy king size bed. The room had a large sitting area with couch, chair and TV. Free Internet. free parking. The free breakfast Evy put together was fantastic. You won't get fed like this... More

My wife and I stayed at the Frederick House for one night on a driving trip, and we could not have chosen a better place. Joe and Evy were both accommodating and hospitable; they are great innkeepers and they are thoroughly integrated into the local community. They serve marvelous breakfasts; in fact, when we asked about the menu when we... More

These guests were returning to Staunton for a high school reunion. He had completed a successful career and wanted to reconnect with old memories. At Frederick House we enjoy the opportunity to share our knowledge of changes that have occurred in Staunton to make it a Distinctive Destination in Virginia. Evy and I are there every day for our guests... More

My wife and I were staying in Staunton on a travelling business trip and had the pleasure of having to actually stay three times ... in three different rooms ... and they were all full of character, warm, comfortable and quiet. It really was nearly as good as being at home. The situation in town was walking distance from music,... More

We enjoyed talking with these guests from the Mediterranean. They explored wide areas of Staunton including Marinos on Tuesday nights for local bluegrass. They could see it is not about the room. It is about the experience. Visiting Staunton is an experience. Thank you for your comments. More
