On May 7, my family was traveling with a group who decided to stay at a rustic church camp with no cell service. My 76 year old Mom did not feel comfortable.without cell service so I had to find a place to stay on what was apparently the eve of UVA graduation weekend. I needed a 2-night stay near Stauton... This is a rare KOA in that it is not situated right next to an interstate. It is about 4 miles from the interstate, passing a large truck stop just off the interstate, then winding country road, quiet location. Only pull-through sites do not have sewer hookup. Bath house appeared freshly painted and clean, but the shower stalls are smaller... More

rvtraveler2014, I'm sorry you were unaware of our wi-fi during your stay! We have several repeaters around the park so that you should be able to get a signal from most areas, and require those who wish to use it to get passwords from the office to help keep the system secure. They should have been offered during check-in; I... More

After hours on the road this was the only place to stay. Lady on the phone was very nice & helpful, gave great directions. Some paved roads. We stayed in the top section. Next time would like one by the lake. Lots of restaurants close by I wish we had time to check out. Will be back again on our... More

Had a great time. The owners and staff answered all of our many questions. They even helped with my water hook up (little clearance, needed a wrench). Beautiful grounds (see attached picture). Looking forward to going back next year. Paul M.

After a few bad experiences with KOAs (Watkins Glen and Harpers Ferry) the last couple years, I was a little nervous about staying in one again. I’m glad we did try again in Staunton. The campground is wonderfully and laid out to maximize the beauty of the foothills near the Shenandoah Mountains. We stayed for two nights over veteran’s day... More

We stayed here on Halloween weekend. They had so many activities for the kids. It is a beautiful area. Very helpful staff with showing us places to visit in the area. Everyone was so friendly. Skyline drive was 10 minutes away....Breathtaking.

We had planned to stay in Shenandoah National park on a fall weekend, but didn't realize the walk up for park campsites was so crazy. So luckily the KOA had room for us. Its at the very southern end of the park, convenient to that entrance. Our campsite was right on the lil lake they had, and was a good... More

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your recent stay with us! I am sorry that you were unaware that we sell firewood in our store and deliver it to the site. Because of the prevalence of wood-boring insects that can completely destroy our trees, we ask that campers NOT bring their own wood, even if it is locally sourced... More

we were looking for campsite for travel trailer rather than staying at a motel. something pet friendly needed. happened upon this site. being it was leaf peeper season, we had to take what was available. missed our short cut and rode the whole route around . signage references did not make sense, but after walking around an intersection we found... Stayed a Saturday night while passing through to another state. What we liked: 1. Very friendly front service person. Smiling and helpful. Because the registration clerk is the first person you speak with, that person sets the tone for your stay. Good job, KOA. 2. We spent a quiet evening at the park and never felt unsafe. 3. Dogs are... More

We stayed one night at a tent site that was extremely rocky and uneven, and I should have asked to move to another site, but we didn't bother. And our neighbors were the loudest, most annoying rednecks who made a racket until about 11pm, and then their dog woke us up at 1am. Other than that, I found the campground... More

dspenard, I am so sorry to hear your neighbors were not considerate and kept your family awake - we recommend that if a camper is having a problem after hours, they call our main number for assistance, as this goes directly to the manager's house, and someone will be happy to come out and help. Additionally, in the future, we... More
