The layout of this campground is very nice. There's a nice man-made lake along with a dog park, playground, open fields as well as some woods. I would have two complaints : 1.) The spots were small. 2.) I asked to leave the camper for two hours past checkout (which is 12:00) due to a commitment we had in Staunton.... More

My wife and I stopped here for 3 nights to visit some historical sights and ride our motorcycles. We called ahead and let them know the size of our motor home, we needed 50 amps and that we had a full size pickup pulling an enclosed trailer in addition. We reserved a "pull through" site and knew that our trailer... More

Although we live locally (within 10 miles of the campground), we usually camp here at least twice a year...always for our first trip of the season (close to home in case we have any problems). This year we brought along our 3 year old grand daughter--her first camping experience. She had a wonderful time! She especially enjoyed the ducks and... More

My wife and I picked this KOA as our weekend getaway place. The VIK sites at the top of the campground have beautiful views of the park, lake and surrounding mountains. The bathrooms are cleaned regularly and have always been fine for us. The surrounding area has lots of things to do, history, wineries and breweries just to name a... More

This was our 3rd stay at Walnut Hills and it was as expected, wonderful! The campground is well maintained, the sites for the most part are large and level. If you're traveling with kids there are things for them to do. A big plus for us is the large, fenced in dog run. Our 2 Beagles love being able to... More

This is a very good park. The staff was excellent. The setting up on top of the hill is great overlooking the lake. The road leading to the park is paved but narrow. Just take it slow and I had no problems. There is little traffic on that road and only encountered one car and one horse trailer. The road... More

We're so glad you enjoyed your recent stay with us! Thanks for the advice on disconnecting tow vehicles at the bottom of the hill before driving up - this is definitely valuable information for our campers to have! We hope to see you again soon. More

I have read multiple reviews on here about poor customer service and I have to disagree. I thought the staff were very nice and friendly. I never experienced any rudeness or immaturity. I stayed in one of the cabins it was clean and had plenty of room for a family of 5 when if rained. Pool was clean and they... More

Our family stayed in the cabin rentals they were spotless clean. This camp ground had every thing you could want. The grounds were very well kept. The customer service we had at the front desk from Christine was top notch and she was very knowledgeable about the area. Thanks to all our new friends at KOA Staunton VA.

This was our second stay at this location. It has really gone downhill when it comes to customer service and safety. The owner is extremely rude. They have allowed multiple people to take up permanent residence here causing suspicious activity. We witnessed police activity during our stay. The manager is very immature and rude and could use some customer service... More

I'm very sorry you and your family had such an unpleasant stay at our facility and wish things had turned out differently. As you state, we do have extended-stay campers at our campground, and one of these campers passed away of natural causes while you were here, which accounts for the police and ambulance activity. I'm sorry you found me... More

Stayed here for the second time with my brother and his family. This is a halfway point for us and is a nice alternative for a hotel since there are five kids. Grounds are beautiful , stayed in the largest cabin in the campground. We were unable to park both our vehicles at the cabin ( there is plenty of... More

I'm sorry you had a less-than wonderful time at our park. While we have tried to replicate the problems you experienced with the toilet, we have found it flushes perfectly; perhaps the wipes you attempted to flush backed up our system. We will also consider your comments about the towel rods and see if there is an improvement that can... More
