My better half and I are spending a quiet weekend in Staunton to get away from the grind. We're fans of Thai Food and were intrigued by the idea of a Thai restaurant attached to an historic Victorian Mansion. The food was really good, if a bit heavy for Thai dishes, but full of comforting flavor. Clearly fresh spices and... More

First off I should state that my friend & I are the adventurous type & with a name like Ubon Thai Victorian Restaurant Inn, well we just had to. The waitress was very sweet but not very knowledgeable. She was apologetic but we weren't convinced she understood the severity of the situation. Let me explain. My friend has severe food... More

Its your Great Aunt Sally's (who the whole family thought to be a hoarder) B&B. Clean enough but AC is a wierd in room thing, towels are about as thick as Kleenex & the whole thing is just weird. If you can't stay in town at Frederick House or Stonewall Jackson, just bite the bulliet & drive from the Holiday... More

We booked our room on booking.com for 125 and called to confirm we could have a crib in our room for our son. No answer or call back. When we arrived we got a different room that had two beds but were not told it was more expensive. The hosts were very nice and friendly but the cost to stay... More

I found the Ubon Thai thoroughly relaxing. It was quiet, and my room (#7) was very comforable. I had dinner in the restaurant the first evening and the thai food and beer were very good. I found the location a few bocks from the center of downtown convenient and enjoyed the walk past historic buildings. I was glad of the... More

We rolled up dirty and tired on the back of a motorcycle, having just called and made reservations from the road 15 minutes ago. And Dan and Ubon couldn't have been more welcoming. The house is indeed a Victorian Inn, but with quirky Thai twists. We sat out on the front porch drinking a Singha and enjoying the huge plate... More

Our room ( #1) was very nice and was ready when we arrived about noon. Greeted and shown to our room. The cook had just made some Thai fish cakes, so we had those and some chicken strips that my wife thought were outstanding! The fish cakes were excellent as well. The next am we had a Thai breakfast prepared... More

We are staying here right now - 2 couples. We were driving near Staunton so I looked on Trip Advisor on my cell phone, and this is the only B&B that came up as available. We got here about 7:30 pm. Parked the car in front, walked up the front stairs, and walked right in the front door. No sign... More

Ubon has an awesome personality and this inn is beautiful and comfortable. We arrived kind of late in the evening and were welcomed and made to feel at home. The house was built maybe in the 1870s and is sturdy and historically interesting. Downstairs there is a mix of Thai and southern decor. The inn is owned by a very... More

I'm not sure which is better, the Thai restaurant or the inn. The building is a beautiful 160 year old house, which has been well preserved. The rooms are great... you can expect to have a clawfoot bath tub, wireless internet, and satellite TV. The food at Ubon is literally the best Thai food I've ever had, and I have... More
