My wife and I frequently travel from New Jersey to North Carolina and Staunton is a great stopping place. The Holiday Inn at exit 225 on route 81 consistently has provided excellent value for our money (they don't run travel book coupons anymore). The hotel staff was accommodating with our request for a king size bed and high floor location.
