We have now managed to stay in Staunton twice: once at the Fredrick House and now at Shenandoah Valley Inn. We both felt that of the two, this was the one we would always recommend. Dan was an excellent host (as was Clair the cat). The rooms very comfortable, stylish and with every facility you would need. The gardens are... more

We celebrated my wife's 40th birthday in Staunton and the SVI did not disappoint! A beautiful home, wonderful service, comfortable rooms, and a delicious breakfast--what more could you ask for? Dan is a terrific and thoughtful host and you cannot go wrong with the Shenandoah Valley Inn. We look forward to a return visit. more

We had a fantastic stay at the Shenandoah Valley Inn! The location is perfect-- within easy walking distance to the Blackfriars Theater and downtown dining and on a much quieter street than other hotels in Staunton. More importantly, the property is impeccably maintained and Dan is a truly wonderful host. We are not people who usually choose to stay at... more

My daughter graduated from James Madison University this past weekend, and we had planned our trip from Montana to Virginia quite a while ago. It's not an easy trip to make; so I wanted our stay to be special. Our two nights at the Inn were delightful. I've stayed at B&Bs around the US and I've never had a better... more

I found Shenandoah Valley Inn on trip advisor and what a wonderful choice. We stayed 3 days in October to enjoy the fall foliage and historical sites in the area. From my initial contact with owner Dan Sager to the day we departed the service and attention to detail was impeccable. There are only 4 rooms to this exquisite Bed... more

Rare combination of excellent accomodation, excellent food, but most of all - excellent host. Dan made us feel as if we were friends as soon as we entered the front door of his inn. Theatre tickets, dinner recommendations, etc. were taken care of cheerfully by Dan. Make sure you befriend his "assistant" host Claire the cat - she is a... more

My wife and I wanted a nice, relaxing weekend before I started my new job. We searched for the perfect weekend and we seemed to have found it thanks to Dan and the Inn's chef, Laurie. Dan made us feel so welcomed by treating us like personal guests rather than customers. And since we chose to purchase the "Foodie Package,"... more

My husband and I just returned this evening from a weekend at the SVI. This was our first Bed & Breakfast experience and we will never forget it! We cannot say enough about how wonderful this B&B is, and the superb service that goes along with it. The Inn itself is a beautiful mansion adorned with elegant furniture and decor.... more

My bride and I wanted to stay somewhere unique, romantic, and a short walk away from the rest of our wedding guests after we got married December 19, 2008 in downtown Staunton, VA- The Shenandoah Valley Inn was the perfect place! From booking to checkout, owner Dan, (referred to by several guests as "Dan the Man" for his incredible hospitality... more
