We spent two nights at Pembroke. We had a fantastic time. The family who owns the B&B is just precious. They took such good care of us. The Japanese breakfast ( you can order American breakfast as well) is delicious and the baths are really relaxing. The view from every room, including the baths, is amazing. Green tea and snacks... We complained to a friend that we wished there were onsen in the U.S. Fortunately, that friend had stayed at Pembroke. The recommendation paid in full, plus more: the baths were obviously relaxing, but the food, facilities and proprietors made the experience a vacation highlight. The baths were remarkable for the magnificent views each room has of the mountains. We... More

We are just back from our fourth stay at Pembroke Springs in as many years which, in itself, should say something. We absolutely love this place and hope to return at least once a year for as long as they are open. The property itself is beautiful and secluded and truly lives up to its billing as a "retreat." It... More

If you are a Japanophile this is the right place for you. First of all, the site is gorgeous. The surrounding is immerse in nature: there is plenty of trails to walk, rivers with natural springs, and wild life to experience. The Inn is just fantastic. Rooms are clean, big, comfortable...all have a gorgeous view. It is peaceful. You can... More

What an amazing place to go and decompress, de-stress, and eat delicious food! I booked a Saturday night at the Pembroke Springs Retreat on the recommendation of a very good friend, who had been there 4 times. I was traveling alone, so I wanted to make sure this was the place for me. It definitely was. I had already looked... More

This place is fantastic. The offer Japanese style hot springs, which means take a shower before you go to the hot bath. After the hot bath, I did not go to shower and left the hotsprings on my body and moisturize mu skin. The fice Japanese dinner is awesome as well, but just not enough for my boyfriend, haha. The... We were there for our anniversary. We had heard about it from our Japanese friend of a good Japanese hot bath experience. We were greeted with a Yukata to wear whilst we are at the facility. We woke up and went straight to the bath(you have to sign up though). Enjoyed the cool air and warm soak. After that walked... More

We spent one wonderful evening at Pembroke Springs in September 2013. We stayed in the Maple room. This unique bed and breakfast was very accommodating to children. If dinner is offered on the night you go you must try it. The authentic Japanese food at both dinner and breakfast was wonderful. Opt for the Japanese breakfast. The Japanese baths are... More

This is one of the most amazing, relaxing and beautiful bed and breakfast establishments!! We have stayed at Pembroke on four seperate occasions and would go back every month if our schedules permitted. The owners provide a comfortable, friendly atmosphere that feels just like home with the fabulous natural spring baths and exceptional food!!
