You can find this great inn through the winding lanes of Greene County (and boy do they wind!). Janet cooks such sumptuous breakfasts that lunch is completely otiose. The rooms are large and comfortable with the softest sheets you could sleep in. The views of the Blue Ridge Mountains from the terrace are stunning. Get the picture!

My husband and I just spent 3 lovely days at the Inn. We went on Trip Advisor's many recommendations, which are completely deserved. Beautiful spacious and comfy room (Redbud); huge yummy breakfast; lovely Port and chocolates at night; and especially the peace and quiet. So relaxing to just walk to the river, lounge at the pool, read on the many... More

The William Cox in is a beautifully kept historic building with tons of character and room to breathe. The grounds are stunning and we loved wondering around meeting the dogs, goats and chickens. The vegetable garden is enviable and its wonderful to know your breakfast in the morning is contributed to from it. Our room was clean and a nice... More

It was the goats/chicken directional sign off the big veranda that made me laugh. This delightful inn dates from the 18th century, but thankfully, there is a lovely, spacious new addition with beautifully appointed rooms and individual AC (important in Virginia in summer). The gracious great room with its birdwatching scope, library, and view of the Shenandoah National Park mountains... More

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a glass of wine from local winery Barboursville, our stay was quiet, cozy and romantic. The house is absolutely beautiful no matter your personal taste. We stayed in the Sumac room which is park of the original house with tons of character & a cozy fireplace. Lily, the house golden retriever... More

We had the opportunity to spend a wonderful weekend at the William Cox Inn. Owners Janet and Tom have a truly beautiful home and property where you can really unwind and relax. The property is immaculate, well taken care of and is furnished with taste and charm. The accommodations are phenomenal and the grounds are gorgeous, quiet and very private.... More

We stayed on November 16, 2013. I can’t say enough great things about this place! Because of our travel plans, we only wanted to stay one night. The website says there’s a two night minimum, but when I called Janet (the owner) she said if we called Thursday morning and they weren’t sold out, they would give us a room... More

If you are looking for the perfect getaway with a view of the Blue Ridge/ Shenandoah NP, yet with easy access to Charlottesville and other area attractions, then the William Cox Inn is your choice. Janet and Tom have one of the best B&Bs anywhere. With a section of the house dating to 1770 and the rest a recent addition... More

It's hard to begin with what my favorite part of the William Cox Inn was - everything was wonderful! The home is tidy, well decorated and very clean - it always smelled of lavender or fresh laundry. Tom and Janet, who own/run the Inn are such nice and friendly people. I forgot to bring conditioner and Janet let me barrow... More
