We had the opportunity to spend a wonderful weekend at the William Cox Inn. Owners Janet and Tom have a truly beautiful home and property where you can really unwind and relax. The property is immaculate, well taken care of and is furnished with taste and charm. The accommodations are phenomenal and the grounds are gorgeous, quiet and very private.... More

We stayed on November 16, 2013. I can’t say enough great things about this place! Because of our travel plans, we only wanted to stay one night. The website says there’s a two night minimum, but when I called Janet (the owner) she said if we called Thursday morning and they weren’t sold out, they would give us a room... More

If you are looking for the perfect getaway with a view of the Blue Ridge/ Shenandoah NP, yet with easy access to Charlottesville and other area attractions, then the William Cox Inn is your choice. Janet and Tom have one of the best B&Bs anywhere. With a section of the house dating to 1770 and the rest a recent addition... More

It's hard to begin with what my favorite part of the William Cox Inn was - everything was wonderful! The home is tidy, well decorated and very clean - it always smelled of lavender or fresh laundry. Tom and Janet, who own/run the Inn are such nice and friendly people. I forgot to bring conditioner and Janet let me barrow... More

We loved our stay. Owners very friendly. Felt right at home. AMAZING food. WOW. The house has so much history and the rooms are large and comfortable. Great location for hiking. Amazing pool. I LOVED my visit and already planning another trip back. The sheets on the bed were the softest I have ever felt. I even ordered some. Wonderful... More

My husband and I spent a glorious weekend at the inn which is beautiful. Our room (Tulip Poplar) was very comfortable and the cozy robes were a nice touch. The breakfasts were enough to carry us through lunch, and the dining rooms were charmingly rustic. We were impressed by the owners detailed descriptions of breakfast fare including the fresh vegetables... More

We are not bed and breakfast people, can’t stand the sloping floors, thin walls, shared baths, and communal meals. We needed a place in Stanardsville for four nights for a family reunion and traditionally there aren’t many places in town that aren’t typical B & Bs. We found the William Cox on Trip Advisor and it sounded lovely. We were... More

My wife and I recently spent our 5th anniversary at the William Cox Inn. We wanted to go hiking in Shenandoah National Park for the weekend and decided to do something more special that usual and stay at a B&B, which we had never done before. It seemed a no-brainer when looking at B&B’s in the area to choose one... More

It was by mere coincidence that we found the William Cox Inn. At Front Royal, Ken, at information, was super helpful in finding us a place to put down our heads for the night. We programmed the address into our GPS and off we went visiting some wineries along the way. We got to the Inn and couldn't believe it... More

This is an absolutely beautiful inn with the comforts of a luxury hotel room. We stayed in the Persimmon room. The king size bed was very comfortable and the sheets were so soft you felt like you were sleeping in a cloud. It turns out the inn sells them and so I even bought a set before leaving. Every night... More
