We stayed at Heavenly Acres Campground for a four nights in August, 2014. We are normally tent campers but since we were ultimately headed to a condo at the beach we opted to not pack all of the camping gear and find a ‘base’ where we could spend some time at Shenandoah and possibly also visit Monticello. That being said,... More

Our troop camped this past weekend. We had a great campsite, as some of us were in tents, and some (mostly moms) were in a cabin on the same site (recommended by the owners). Easy hour's drive to hike Old Rag. Gary was wonderful in delivering firewood for us throughout the weekend. We didn't use the showers or the pool... More

Our site was 35 paces from one hook up to the next! I think that most sites are easily twice as big as any privately owned campground I have ever visited. Very clean. Huge trees. Located within 10 miles of Skyline Drive. Beautiful serene setting. A grocery store is close by too. Very friendly owners and staff. We have a... More

I read all the reviews, the good and the bad... but I could not express how much I loved this place. The camp host was awesome and accommodating. I look forward to going again. Diamond in the rough... the blue caboose showed off craftsmanship and love and sweat. The labor of love paid off. It was so awesome. And yes,... More

We stayed in the green caboose. There are 4 of us. Our boys are 6 and 9. They absolutely LOVED the caboose! They very quickly made the beds their fort for "bros night" and we were not allowed to enter except to give them drinks and pizza. We had a fire and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. The A/C worked well.... More

The name is the the only thing "heavenly" about this place. The sites were overgrown with grass and various weeds. We had to watch the kids for poison ivy contact on our site, as it seemed to be everywhere. Quite a walk from the sites to the pool/bath-house area, too. Speaking of the pool....this was our biggest disappointment. On the... More

On our tour holiday, we rented cabins at several locations. The one at Heavenly Acres was the most expensive of all, but it disappointed us for that price. I would say the furniture is outdated, both inside and outside. Furthermore, as already stated in another review, the campsite looks chaotic, with several projects being started but not (yet) finished. For... More

There is no perfect campground so let me start of with the only con. Pick your tent campsite carefully. Several have slopes and when it pours down rain, you could be sleeping in a river. But with some tenting experience you can figure out what sites to choose. We chose tent site 4. Its right next to a field which... More

We were headed to the mountains and this was very convenient. This is a Passport America Campground so the price was affordable $20 a night. The owner was very nice and the campground was adequate for our overnight stay We were in a 36' Fifth Wheel. Our site had 50 amp and water and sewer and was a pull through.... More

We stayed 2 nights in our 45ft. Large shaded pull-through sites, great fire pits and grills. The location is great of you have a car to drive through Shenandoah National Park where there are hiking trails and water falls. Many wineries near by.Also a great camp ground if you want to just hang out and relax. The owners are super... More
