The Ridge did a great job hosting the 1st Annual Emerging Civil War Symposium at Riddle House. Next door was the big place and I saw 3 wedding receptions. They looked fun too. Hoppin affairs. Watch out for traffic on highway, you can get smashed turning into the Ridge on Meeting Street. Have to make U turns safely. Dont know... More

We stayed at the Spy Hill House, a family of 4 (kids are little, 5 and 2 y.o.) for a Fathers Day weekend. This was an amazing stay, and the house is just so beautiful, and cozy, and historic, we all fell in love with it. Kudos to the keepers and everyone who works on the ranch, for keeping it... More

What a gem ! You simply will not believe what you have discovered, and what you are experiencing, as you experience it. Old cottages and buildings saved from doomsday, rebuilt, and then transplanted on the property of a night's stay of charm and uniqueness. An easy drive to great historical sights and a wonderful place to feel special about yourself... More

I cannot explain how happy we were with Stevenson Ridge. We stayed in the Civil War house, and it was just the right size and price. The owners were very friendly (they even made us cookies on Christmas Day!) and willing to answer any questions we had about the local area. It was such a relief to stay in a... More

We stayed here for one night, arriving late in the afternoon as it was getting dark. The room we had booked was called the log cabin and it turned out to be an actual log cabin away from the main house, on the edge of the woods! There were a few other cabins as well and no signposting so while... More

Our family attended the wedding of our niece, and the reception afterwards, at Stevenson Ridge this past 1st of December . . . as we were drawing abreast of the property, we were puzzled that our seemingly urbane niece had chosen such a rural setting for her wedding; in particular what looked like a large barn set upon cleared fields... what a pleasant surprise when we pulled into the driveway and reached a fantastic combination of cabins, houses, Pond, Wood, Meadows, rolling hillside - the works. We stayed in the Civil War House and though we knew we had the whole house we were still impressed by the size, Equipment, decor, layout, .... It made you feel at home instantly!... More

A little over an hour from Washington DC and located in the heart of historic Civil War battlefields, Stevensons Ridge is on 87 bucolic acres. The Stevensons identify old historic cabins and houses, dismantle them, and then reconstruct them with careful attention to detail on their property. Everything is gorgeous both inside and outside, and the owners are super nice!

We spent a lovely (albeit short) weekend in the corn crib on this farm located between Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania. Delightful and well appointed. We were very comfortable and appreciated the attention to detail (some snacks, a few movies and books, recent magazines, extra towels). The only downside was the skylights- while I am sure they reduce the need for electric... More

My wife and I stayed in the Spy Hill house and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house, while built in 1732, has been modernized (A/C and electric thank you) but not so much as to take away from the house's character. Spotsylvania is close to the quaint town of Fredricksburg with plenty of dining choices and historical sights, as well... More
